Chasing 182 to win, the Sri Lankan chase was derailed by Yusuf Pathan who proved to be the hero with the ball as well. He was well supported by his brother Irfan Pathan as India kept chipping away with regular wickets to ensure their opponent never got close to the target. In the end, Sri Lanka ended up on 167 and lost the final by 14 runs. Yusuf Pathan was named the Man of the Match while Tillakaratne Dilshan got the Man of the Series.
