Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo has reported that PSG are interested in signing a world class attacker who can play at any position in the attacking line. Hence, they are looking into the transfer market for one such profile. They have now identified Rodrygo Goes of Real Madrid as their primary target. The Parisian club are ready to spend €100 million for his signing.

The Brazilian has been a standout performer for the reigning La Liga champions since he joined the club in the summer transfer window of 2019. He has always stepped up in crucial moments and has scored important goals for the team. Rodrygo is fast and agile and can take on defenders with ease. Moreover, the Brazilian is clinical in front of the goal, and his knack for standing up in big moments has made him an important player for the Los Blancos.

Rodrygo has scored six goals in 18 matches so far in the La Liga 2024/2025 season. 4 of the 6 goals were scored at home, while he scored 2 at away games. Overall, Rodrygo’s goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.45. His goal involvement equates to 0.82 per 90 minutes. His non-penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.44. This puts Rodrygo’s npxG output at 5.55.

His performances have made Rodrygo an important part of the national team as well. Many high-profile clubs have been keeping tabs on the player in the transfer window, and PSG are leading the race. After Kylian Mbappe‘s departure to Real Madrid, PSG have a void to fill in the left wing. Moreover, Randal Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos have not been that effective, and hence, PSG need a profile of the quality of Rodrygo.

The player has a release clause of €1 billion. Given his importance, Madrid will most probably not let him leave easily. However, PSG are willing to test the waters with a fee of €100 million. It remains to be seen if the Los Blancos do accept the deal.
