‘I think he would be so freakin’ dangerous in boxing because he’s really just, inside that cage’ – Claressa Shields on Jon Jones
Professional boxer and Mixed Martial Artist, Claressa Shields has revealed that Jon Jones would be ‘so freakin dangerous’ as a heavyweight boxer. The light heavyweight GOAT, Jon Jones, recently moved up to the heavyweight division and is yet to make his much anticipated debut in a division of some of the toughest men on the planet.
Speaking in an interview [via BJPENN.com], Claressa also revealed that Jon Jones could make a transition to Heavyweight Boxing, as she believed that Jon Jones is a dangerous man inside the cage.
“Johnny Bones is a serious person especially when it comes to training and his teaching” – Claressa Shields
Claressa was quoted as saying, “Johnny Bones is a serious person especially when it comes to training and his teaching. We’ve had two classes where I spent countless hours with Johnny Bones and he was teaching me and breaking stuff down that looked so complex, but breaking it down into 1-2-3-4, breaking it down into steps from the beginning. So I look at him as a serious guy. So if I was to show (Jones) what I know in boxing and show me what he knows in MMA, I believe that when he learns these simple basics with his hands and how to stand. Aw man. I think he would be so freakin’ dangerous in boxing because he’s really just, inside that cage. I mean, we all seen it. He’s a dangerous guy.” [via BJPENN.com]
It is being said that Jon Jones, might make his heavyweight debut against the winner of a possible bout between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou. He might probably even win the heavyweight title in only his first match.
What do you think Claressa Shields’s recent take on Jon Jones? Can he succeed as a heavyweight boxer?
