Dwyane Wade was one of the important players for the Miami Heat team that won the 2006 NBA Finals. Not only was his impact felt then, but he was also named as the Finals MVP that season. However, looking back on that time, Dallas Mavericks co-owner Mark Cuban is not happy with how his side got defeated.

The billionaire made his displeasure known recently while speaking with Jalen Brunson on “The Roommates Show”. During their conversation, he recalled that 2006 game between the Heat and Dallas Mavericks. Cuban pointed out what he believed to be horrible officiating by the referee regarding fouls on Dwyane Wade.

When Wade starts driving to the hoop, every little touch, two shots, two shots. He literally, in multiple games, shot more free throws than our entire team.
Mark Cuban said

According to him, many of the fouls given against his team that year were questionable. Mark Cuban further stated that the referee for that game wasn’t chosen on pure merit, but rather by rank. Hence, the reason why he feels there was a lot of bias back then.

The billionaire also revealed that the feeling after their subsequent loss was a painful one for him. D-Wade’s 25 free throws in Game 5 of the 2006 Finals were completely bizarre and raised a ton of questions. However, despite that controversy, he led the Miami Heat to a championship that season. Wade averaged 34.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists in six games throughout their Finals run.

Dwyane Wade has focused on family life and business since retiring

After hanging up his boots as a Miami Heat player, Dwyane Wade has dedicated his time to what he loves the most. One is his family, and the other is looking good, even in retirement. This led him to become a trendsetter in fashion while he was a part of Inside the NBA. The 42-year-old is also a part owner of the Utah Jazz, alongside his various other business ventures.

It also helps that his wife Gabrielle Union is a movie star which means looking good runs in the family. Wade took his smart clean looks to the Paris Olympics as part of the broadcasting team of NBC, even for that short period of time.

However, most importantly, he is giving his kids the best life and platform for them to succeed. A healthy balance of happy family life, fashion interests and business.
