Bronny James is not having the season many hoped for when the guard looked to have developed enough for the Los Angeles Lakers to deploy him as a defensive specialist.

There have been instances where his defense looked solid, but opportunities have been sparse, which led head coach JJ Redick to suggest the sophomore was better off getting some minutes in the G-League. He has been a regular on the bench, where most of the time he is either the team’s cheerleader or the one called upon to play garbage minutes.

The 21-year-old has featured in 24 games for the senior team, where he has recorded averages of 1.5 points, 0.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. His scoring and rebounding are down from his rookie campaign, when he had that career-high game against the Bucks.

There are two NBA players voted for Bronny James to start the NBA All-Star Game. Another four voted for Isaac Jones, who has scored five points this season.

The AP writer probably had trouble writing this on the platform, as no one could imagine any of the players voting Bronny James to start in the upcoming 2026 All-Star game.

For someone who averages those numbers, the most they can hope for is to try to hold on to their job. Even though Tim Reynolds did not reveal who those players were, the very fact that they voted for Bronny James came as a shock.

Fans react to Bronny James receiving two votes to start the All-Star game

At a time when there were many lobbying the NBA to find a way to include LeBron James in the All-Star game as a starter, no one believed a couple of player votes would go towards his son.

Fans agree that Bronny James could be an All-Star starter in the G-League. But in the NBA, he would not even be considered being anywhere near the All-Star festivities unless he is eligible for any of the other events that take place during the weekend.

Fans felt the two players who voted were trolling the James family, or it could be some of LeBron James’ closest aides. Check out examples of such reactions below:

Considering how Bronny James has regressed in his second year in the league, it will be a while before he can come close to being considered being an All-Star.

Draymond Green trolls critics of Rich Paul’s podcast for allegedly scheming for LeBron James

Bronny James’ father, LeBron James, and their agent, Rich Paul, have come under fire after the latter suggested on his podcast that, had he been the Lakers’ GM, he would have traded away Austin Reaves.

Fans have slammed the all-time leading scorer for supposedly trying to get his message across through his agent. But Draymond Green does not believe that is the case.

You think they’re going to wait 23 years to start doing that? Doesn’t make sense. If you ever around LeBron, he doesn’t sit around talking about the Lakers… Austin Reaves is averaging 30. Why would LeBron want him traded?

Draymond Green said on his podcast

The four-time champion added that if the Lakers’ superstar wanted to meddle with any team he has been with, he could have done so long before.

Green reminded his viewers that when he started his podcast, critics came out to slam him, as he was an active player. Now, he believes Rich Paul is getting the same treatment, as no other agent has come up with such a platform to express his views.
