I am not worried, says Perry

“It is what it is,” Perry said “I have to be on weight on Friday morning. Over the years, I’ve done it a little early, because I didn’t want to do it last minute. Since I understand the process more, I can wait. So, I still have like 20 (pounds) that I’m going to plan on cutting last minute.”

“I understand hard work. So, it’s not really that I’m worried, but I am curious if I’ve gotten bigger. I know I can do it.” is what Perry replied when if he had the slightest worry about cutting weight in this short period.

The approach Perry is taking is called ‘water loading’ where the fighter drink gallons of water to gain weight and then this water weight for them is easier to lose compared to the usual weight. The water is heavy for them and they usually lost most of it through intense cardio or by simply going to the sauna.

Though there is a huge chance of Mike missing the scales, he is still determined to make weight for his event and seems confident his body can do it.
