2022 World Cup Qualifiers: Costa Rica vs Mexico Live Stream, Preview and Prediction
Costa Rica takes on Mexico in their second match of the 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Costa Rica opened their campaign with a 0-0 draw against Panama earlier this week. While Mexico registered their first win beating Jamaica 2-1 in the opening game and will look for another when they face Costa Rica.
Costa Rica vs Mexico: Preview
After qualifying for the last four World Cup Costa Rica will aim for another appearance at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
New manager Luis Fernando Suarez has great experience who has previously guided Ecuador to the 2002 and 2006 World Cup and also getting Honduras to the 2014 World Cup.
Costa Rica were lucky to earn a point against Panama as their opponents racked up 18 shots compared to 4 of theirs, but were unfortunate not to score.
They will need to put in a great performance against a strong Mexico team if they want to get anything from the game on Sunday.
Mexico on the other hand was dominant against Jamaica in their last game having a total of 27 shots compared to their 5 and also having a 73% possession in the game.
But it was Henry Martin who scored the winner in the 89th minute of the game to claim all three points for his side.
This result will be a boost for the Mexicans after their disappointing losses at the CONCACAF Gold Cup and the Nations League both coming at the hands of their fierce rivals USA.
Mexico now faces Costa Rica against whom they are unbeaten since 2013 and will look to register back-to-back win against them.

Costa Rica vs Mexico: Prediction
Keylor Navas was back in goal for Costa Rica against Panama and looked in great shape after the missing Gold Cup earlier this summer. Byran Ruiz is also in contention to start the game against Mexico.
Mexico will again miss a number of key players due to the travel restrictions and injuries as well, with the likes of Raul Jimenez, Hirving Lozano are all out. Hector Herrera has not been selected for the upcoming qualifiers.
Despite missing some key players Mexico are still a strong team and will surely have the edge over Costa Rica on Sunday. We predict a narrow win for Mexico.
