The 2024 season was breathtaking from the start to the finish. While everyone was eager to excel on the court, only a few could win the titles on offer. Out of the thousands of women’s players, Iga Swiatek, Karolina Muchova, Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka, and Elena Rybakina finished with the best win-loss records.

Among the top players, only Muchova ended the year without a title. However, she did reach two finals, including the China Open WTA 1000. Here, we take a look at the top three players with the best win-loss records this season.

3) Elena Rybakina – 43-11 (79.6%) win-loss record

Elena Rybakina began the season by winning the Brisbane International title in January. After a shocking early exit at the Australian Open, she bounced back by winning the title in Abu Dhabi the following month.

The Kazakh international continued her good form by reaching the WTA 1000 finals in Miami and Doha before winning the Stuttgart Open after defeating Marta Kostyuk in straight sets. However, her season tailed off after her quarterfinal finish at the French Open and semifinal exit at the Wimbledon Championships.

The 25-year-old significantly struggled with injury and illness, which forced her to withdraw from several tournaments. Rybakina then split with her long-term coach, Stefano Vukov, which saw her miss the entirety of the Asian swing. She finished the year as World No. 6 with a 43-11 win-loss record.

2) Aryna Sabalenka – 56-14 (80.0%) win-loss record

2024 is the most successful season of Aryna Sabalenka’s career. She began brightly by winning the Australian Open but then went without a title for five months.

The Belarusian did reach two finals (at the Madrid and Italian Open) in that period and lost both times to Swiatek. She then went on an 11-match winning streak during the North American hard court swing and claimed the Cincinnati and US Open titles.

Sabalenka rode the momentum and won the Wuhan Open, which ensured she ended the year as the WTA No. 1 for the first time in her career. She earned 56 wins and lost just 14 matches across an impressive year. She was also the only woman to play in seven tournament finals this season.

1) Iga Swiatek – 64-9 (87.7%) win-loss record

For the third straight year, Iga Swiatek will finish the season with the highest number of wins. She dominated the first half of the season with her performances.

The bulk of the Polish star’s victories came on clay, where she won consecutive titles in Madrid and Rome and then consolidated it with a fourth French Open title. She also won two hard court titles in Indian Wells and Doha.

Swiatek also reached the semifinals of the Paris Olympics, Stuttgart Open, and Cincinnati. The World No. 2 failed to defend her title at the WTA Finals after exiting the tournament in the round-robin stage.

The 23-year-old wrapped up the year with an impressive five wins at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Malaga. However, she was not able to help Poland reach the final.
