Casper Ruud, Alexander Bublik, and Alex de Minaur are a few players Alcaraz could meet if he reaches the fourth and the quarterfinals. This quarter also features Arthur Rinderknech, reigning Shanghai Masters champion Valentin Vacherot, Luciano Darderi, and 2021 Indian Wells champion Cameron Norrie.

Quarterfinal prediction: Carlos Alcaraz vs. Alex de Minaur

Second quarter

Novak Djokovic is part of this quarterfinal. Last year, he lost to Botic van de Zandschulp in his opening round.

If Djokovic makes the quarterfinals, he could meet Daniil Medvedev, the two-time Indian Wells finalist, who will be chasing his third title of the season. But before that, Nole could end up meeting defending champion Draper in the fourth round. Taylor Fritz, the 2022 Indian Wells champion, also belongs to this quarter.

Quarterfinal prediction: Novak Djokovic vs. Daniil Medvedev

Third quarter

This quarter features Alexander Zverev, Lorenzo Musetti, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Flavio Cobolli. Arthur Fils is also one of the favorites to make the quarterfinals following his Qatar Open run, where he lost to Alcaraz in the final.

Zverev has never made the final at Indian Wells. Although he has yet to win a title since the 2025 Munich Open, he will still be the favorite to make a deep run.

Quarterfinal prediction: Alexander Zverev vs. Lorenzo Musetti

Fourth quarter

Jannik Sinner will headline this quarter. He has never made it past the semifinals, reaching the stage twice, and skipped it last year because of his doping ban.

In the fourth round, Ben Shelton could meet Jakub Mensik, who defeated Sinner in the Qatar Open quarterfinals. Learner Tien, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Tommy Paul, and Tomas Martin Etcheverry are the other seeded players in this quarter.

Semifinals

Djokovic, though he made the Australian Open final by defeating Sinner in the semifinals, won’t be the heavy favorite to win the event, where the last time he lifted a title was back in 2016. And even if he makes the semifinals, he could once again clash with Alcaraz.

If Sinner and Zverev meet in the semifinals, then it will be their first encounter since the 2025 Vienna Open final, which the Italian won. Sinner holds a 6-4 edge over the German and won their last five meetings.

Semifinal prediction:

  • Aryna Sabalenka vs. Coco Gauff
  • Amanda Anisimova vs. Iga Swiatek

Final

Alcaraz and Sinner are the heavy favorites to make the title clash. And if they reach, then it will be their first meeting since the 2025 ATP Finals, which Sinner won.
