First Quarter
Aryna Sabalenka stands out as the major rival to beat in this quarter and also in the Indian Wells Open. She has not won the event in her career despite reaching the final in 2023 and 2025. She will open her campaign against Alycia Parks or a qualifier in the second round. She could also face the 29th seed Maya Joint in the third round before a potential clash with three-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka in the fourth round.

Amanda Anisimova is the second top player in this quarter. The American woman has a lot of experience in big events, but she’s likely to face Victoria Mboko en route to the quarter-finals. Mboko finished as a runner-up at the Qatar Open, where she lost to Karolina Muchova. Meanwhile, Emma Raducanu remains a player to keep an eye on after reunion with Mark Petchey.
Quarter-finals Prediction: Aryna Sabalenka vs. Amanda Anisimova
Second Quarter
Coco Gauff stands tall in the second quarter, but has a stack of top players to contend with. The fourth seed is yet to fully deal with her serving problems on the court, which has seen her rack up more than 85 double faults on the court. However, she could face 2019 champion Bianca Andreescu in the second round before potentially taking on Alexandra Eala in the third round.

Her potential clash against Eala will be a rematch of the Dubai Tennis Championships quarter-finals. However, Jasmine Paolini stands as the likely contender against Gauff in the quarter. The Italian star has not kicked off her season in the manner she hopes, but she can be at her best form at anytime. Nonetheless, Paula Badosa may stun the tennis world as she continues to reach full fitness after injury.
Quarter-finals Prediction: Coco Gauff vs. Jasmine Paolini
Third Quarter
Australian Open champion and third seed Elena Rybakina is seeking to win her second Indian Wells Open, having won it in 2023. The 26-year-old could face 28th seed Marta Kostyuk in the third round, a very tough matchup before a potential clash with 2025 Australian Open champion Madison Keys in the fourth round.

Rybakina is projected to face a daunting task in her bid to reach the final, as Jessica Pegula is in the same quarter with her. Pegula has been in excellent form this season, having reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open and won the Dubai Tennis Championships. But the American star is projected to face Jelena Ostapenko and Belinda Bencic in the third round and fourth rounds, respectively.
Quarter-finals Prediction: Elena Rybakina vs. Jessica Pegula
Fourth Quarter
Iga Swiatek reigns supreme in the fourth quarter and could face Maria Sakkari in the third round. The clash will be a rematch of the 2022 and 2024 Indian Wells Open finals. Also, Sakkari defeated her in the quarter-finals of the Doha Open last month. The World No.2 could then face Doha Open champion Karolina Muchova in the fourth round.

Defending champion Mirra Andreeva is the second top player in this quarter. She could possibly face 27th seed Leylah Fernandez in the third round before a projected clash with Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, who reached the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships and claimed her first title of the season in Auckland.
Quarter-finals Prediction: Iga Swiatek vs. Mirra Andreeva
Semi-finals
Though Aryna Sabalenka is just returning to the tour after a month away, she still proves to be the favorite to win the tournament. The Belarusian star and Coco Gauff are projected to meet in the semi-finals of the Indian Wells. Gauff has never gone past the semi-finals of the tournament in her career.

Elena Rybakina is one of the top frontrunners to lift the WTA 1000 tournament in the California desert. The World No.3 will hope to get the needed points to topple Iga Swiatek in the WTA rankings. But she’s projected to face her in the semi-finals, which will be a blockbuster showdown.
Semi-finals Prediction:
- Aryna Sabalenka vs. Coco Gauff
- Elena Rybakina vs. Iga Swiatek
Final
Coco Gauff last defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the final of the French Open. Since then, both players have met only once, and Sabalenka claimed their recent meeting at the WTA Finals. The World No.1 looks likely to reach the final of the tournament for the third time in her career and her third this season.

Elena Rybakina will be a very tough matchup for Iga Swiatek. Swiatek has dropped in her consistency on the court. Before last season, she dominated the women’s circuit for over a year, but in recent months, players have found her weaknesses on the court.
Final Prediction: Aryna Sabalenka vs. Elena Rybakina
Winner: Elena Rybakina
