This week’s SmackDown saw a wild turn of events. For the first time, Jacob Fatu has had a change in reaction ever since his debut. In quite an eyebrow-raising segment, the new leader of The Bloodline, Solo Sikoa, ordered the Samoan Werewolf to give away his Tag Team Championship.
Fatu was blanked for a few seconds following this order. He handed over the title to Tonga Loa, only to get a new position in The Bloodline. The Tribal Heir revealed that he assigned the 31-year-old as his personal “Enforcer.” Fatu obliged and followed the orders of his leader. However, it raised a lot of questions in the minds of the fans.

3. To allow Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa earn their names as Bloodline members
Ever since the formation of the new Bloodline, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa have not been in the best of the spotlight. When Jacob Fatu made his debut, all eyes quickly shifted to him. In fact, the new Bloodline captured the tag titles, with the Samoan Werewolf doing most of the work.
Now, it seems like WWE is planning to book the brothers as one of the top tag teams in the company. As Fatu has given away the championship, it gives Loa an opportunity to shine on the main roster. Moreover, this will clear doubts raised by fans after speculation regarding the return of ‘Freebird Rule’.
2. To keep Jacob Fatu undefeated
WWE seems heavily invested in Jacob Fatu. Since his first appearance, he has been shown as the next big thing on SmackDown. He even destroyed Roman Reigns last week, portraying him as a total monster moving forward. Therefore, one reason behind him handing his tag title is that WWE wants to keep Fatu undefeated on SmackDown.
With the tag titles on his shoulder, there is a high chance he will drop them later on. It clearly affects the credibility of the star. WWE wants no technical losses on the Samoan Werewolf’s record. Especially for a star who is a guaranteed future world champion.
1. WWE has major plans for Jacob Fatu as a singles star
It is safe to say that the tag team division is primarily on the undercard of WWE. Jacob Fatu has the credibility of being a main event-level star. Therefore, WWE is likely preparing him for an ultimate singles run on the main roster. It paves the way for him to detach himself from The Bloodline and move on a different path.
It is likely that WWE might be planning for him to be the next contender for the United States Championship. LA Knight recently won the title, and he needs a strong opponent. At the moment, there is no one as strong as Fatu on the blue brand. A match between the two and Jacob’s quest for the United States Championship might be on the horizon.
