3 times Angel Reese clapped back at haters ft savage response to ESPN
WNBA and Chicago Sky superstar Angel Reese has used hate as fuel as she continues building herself into a household name.

Angel Reese has continued to defy the hate
Angel Reese has come a long way. She came into the national spotlight for taunting Caitlin Clark while winning the national championship. Then she went on to dispel doubts and becoming an All-Star in her rookie season with the Chicago Sky in the WNBA.
Throughout that journey, she has faced a lot of heat. That Caitlin Clark taunt fueled the discourse as fans started finding flaws in her game. Then when she came into the WNBA, the debate that engulfed all of sports was who was going to be the Rookie of the Year.
She did have some problems with her shooting efficiency but made up for it by leading the league in rebounds. If she didn’t have to stop playing early, she could have finished the season with a record to her name. Quite the feat coming from someone who draft experts did not expect many to do well.
In between all this, she has remained extremely active on social media. With fans pouring in on the negative narratives, she has taken the time to clap back at them. Here are three of the most savage clap backs Angel Reese dished out to her haters.
Clapping back at fans berating her missed layups
One of the most constant criticisms Angel Reese faced during her WNBA season was when fans brought up her missed layups. She did have a problem shooting efficiently inside the restricted area. But rookies are known to have those problems.
The logic fans had was that if her rebounding was as good as anything the league had seen, she could have worked on her scoring. She did mention a few times that she was just starting off and needed time to develop her game.
But fans did not hold back as her layup efficiency issues continued until the end of the season. When the hating continued well after the season ended, she clapped back. The Chicago Sky forward clarified that despite all those said issues and being drafted 7th, she still became an All-Star.
Fan questioned Angel Reese’s fashion sense
After her rookie WNBA season ended, Angel Reese went on a blitzing campaign to build her brand. That involved delving into areas she was interested in and taking them up a notch. She started appearing at music concerts, live comedy shows etc.
The 22-year-old also dabbled in fashion, posing for designers and showing off their wares. In one of those photoshoots, she posed wearing a lingerie set. When photos of this shoot spread online, a female radio host heckled her alleging that she was wearing very ‘cheap’ outfits to look fashionable.
Soon, she was at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, snapping pictures alongside the who’s who of the celebrity world. Post that, she clapped back at that radio show with a message. She continued to clap back at haters when she appeared at the Met Gala, showing the world that she can play basketball as well as be a fashion icon.
Defying ESPN’s predictions in Unrivaled League
That brand building exercise saw major brands lining up to sign her to endorsement deals. With all that in the bag, the Chicago Sky star headed to Miami to participate in the upstart Unrivaled League. She was selected to be a part of Rose Basketball Club along with five other players.
When the team selections were over, ESPN predicted Rose BC to finish at the bottom. Their logic was justified after Rose BC lost four out of their first five games. Starting from February, they went on a five-game winning streak.
Angel Reese’s highlight was when she faced off against the then unbeaten Lunar Owls. She notched the league’s first 20-point 20-rebound game to lead to a famous win. A few more wins and one loss later, Rose BC stand 2nd in the overall standings. After that, Angel Reese tweeted this.

This was a fitting reply to ESPN’s preseason prediction as Reese and her underdog team have clinched a playoff spot with two games to spare. She has shown considerable improvement in her shot selection while also leading the league in rebounds. Quite the clap back setting up the possibility of an improved second season in the WNBA.
