Last season, the Los Angeles Lakers were the only ever team in the NBA to have the first father-son duo in LeBron James and Bronny James play for them in league history. Given that, the saying that a father’s genes come into the son is quietly true, as one could see in James Jr’s personality and game during his college years and in the G League over the last year.
Funnily, this was also on full display when a viral Instagram post containing a 3-year-old Bronny James talking angrily to an old man resurfaced on the internet lately. So much so that his father, LeBron, also could not hold back his laughter and excitement after coming across that post.
The four-time champion took to his Instagram stories and tagged his son James Jr., regarding how the 3-year-old version of him was going at the old man at the court, showcasing James Sr.’s DNA runs through and through in him.
Damn straight he was! He dont play about his pops! (multiple laughing emojis)

This also displays the loving bond that the James duo shares on and off the court. Over several times last year, James Jr. was a victim of multiple criticisms and negativity because of his poor performance during the past season. But as always, his father and Lakers superstar LeBron James always had his back.
The former MVP went all out and also confronted famous NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith personally on the court in a face-to-face conversation. At that time, Smith had taken quite a few jabs at James Jr. throughout the season.
Despite all this, the Lakers’ youngster has just kept his head down and put in all the hard work, listening to his father’s guidance off the court. The youngster has been far better than he was last year. This was on full display during his recent NBA Summer League performances with the Lakers.
The fans now like what they see as Bronny has gone from being a troll to getting immense support and love over the last few months. The Lakers management and as well as LeBron James, will hope that James Jr. carries his form into the upcoming 2025-26 season and shuts up all his doubters and naysayers going forward.
Stephen Curry raved about a 3-year-old Bronny James
NBA legend Stephen Curry has remained quite active during this offseason, attending various podcasts, promotional events, interviews, etc. That said, he recently gave an interview with Complex Sports and spoke about various issues and topics in and around the NBA.
But the one that caught everyone’s attention was Curry talking about when he met a 3-year-old Bronny James back in that time. Curry claimed that James Jr. was destined to play in the NBA, and he saw that in a 3-year-old Bronny.
I remember how athletic Bronny looked that night, couldn’t have been more than three or four. And how fast he ran across the court, I’m like, ‘He’s going somewhere.’ And now to see him in the league is crazy.
Stephen Curry told Complex
LeBron James regularly brought his family to the games, thus Curry must have first seen him when playing against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The two-time MVP recognized something in him that evening, even if it’s unlikely that anyone, much less Bronny James, was aware of his long-term objectives. It’s safe to say that the Warriors star’s vision wasn’t wrong.
Bronny James made a harsh revelation regarding his health issues
Those who have been following Bronny James’s journey over the last few years should know that it has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. From suffering hate and immense criticism, to coming back and performing, James is a proper warrior. But there was a bigger battle he was fighting before all this. This was his cardiac arrest during his college years.

It felt like James Jr.’s career was over before it even started. But despite all that, the eldest son of LeBron James recovered and got back to full fitness and is now up and running with the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA. Recently, he opened up on the consequences he still has to face due to the cardiac arrest back then.
I get kind of sick easier now. Which is kind of weird, but I think it messed with my immune system a little bit. So, I would have times where I have to sit out, and that conditioning that I’m working on just goes away in that week of me being out.
Bronny James told ESPN
James’s remarks also showcase signs of concern that he may have a shorter career in the NBA rather than having a normal one like all the other players have. Bronny looks set to contribute much more to the team this year compared to his rookie year.
