It would not be an eventful offseason if the NBA trade market did not witness a LeBron James trade drama situation. Luckily for the fans, they will witness another season of this unfold in front of their eyes. Most recently, James is interested in moving away from the Los Angeles Lakers, as four teams are interested in snapping up the NBA legend, as per his agent, Rich Paul.

The LA Lakers indicated that they would want to pursue a long-term goal halfway through the 2024–25 NBA season. James (if he didn’t know) couldn’t have been happy about the team losing its only good NBA big man when Anthony Davis was traded for Luka Doncic. Things got worse between the Lakers and James when they did not inform him about the Buss family selling the team to Mark Walter.

Per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, several teams have already expressed interest in acquiring James over the last few weeks. Now things have taken steam regarding the James trade news as four teams expressed interest in dealing for the four-time MVP after contacting Paul. Interestingly, earlier this month, Paul told Shams Charania that he and James will be keeping tabs on the Lakers’ offseason moves.

To add to this, James also opted into his $52.6 million option, putting teams on high alert. It’s unclear which organizations specifically reached out to Paul about a trade for James, but after the Klutch Sports CEO’s initial remarks, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst and Ramona Shelburne claimed that the Golden State Warriors had interest in the 21-time All-Star.

For months since trading Davis, the Lakers were in desperate need of a center. They fulfilled that by signing DeAndre Ayton in free agency. In addition, they also signed forward Jake LaRavia. But James still feels that the team’s mindset is focused on the future, with him not being a part of it by the looks of the Lakers’ management’s recent decision.

ESPN insiders make an exciting LeBron James-Warriors trade proposal

LeBron James is starting a season with an expiring contract, which could release him in 2026, for the very first time in his 23-year career. Los Angeles is becoming more tense, and there are more indications that the team may eventually split up, which might change the franchise. That said, ESPN insiders Brian Windhorst and Ramona Shelburne recently stated that the Warriors are interested in snapping up James.

The possibility of watching James and the Warriors legend Stephen Curry sharing the same court would send shockwaves in and around the NBA community. In addition, Windhorst and Shelbourne came up with an interesting trade proposal.

One Eastern Conference executive was convinced James wanted out of L.A. A handful of teams—including the Golden State Warriors, who tried to trade for James in 2023–24—considered again whether to make an offer, sources said.

In return for Jonathon Kuminga (in a sign-and-trade), Mooses Moody, Brandon Podziemski, and a 2028 first-round selection, a suggested trade might send LeBron and Bronny James to Golden State. Although that may sound like a lot of future assets, it would be amazing if Curry and James were to be paired together at some point in their legendary careers.

NBA insider makes appealing Knicks-LeBron James trade proposal

LeBron James is one name the New York Knicks have been wanting to sign for years in the NBA. They may finally have a shot at signing him, with the Lakers planning to move the legendary player from their roster. As per Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale, the Knicks can send their star, Karl-Anthony Towns, in exchange for LeBron James.

Given that James will earn $52.7 million and Towns will earn $53.1 million next season, this deal is permitted under the CBA. The Knicks also have Mike Brown and Leon Rose. James’ agent in the past was Rose, and Brown was LeBron’s coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers. This may also appeal to James to sign and play at Madison Square Garden in the future.
