LeBron James is about to turn 41 and finds himself facing a situation where he will have to do a lot more than he probably thought, as his Los Angeles Lakers face another injury crisis. The team has already gone through more iterations of their starting lineup than any other organization in the NBA, which has not helped them build a consistent rhythm, which is needed to build a winning form.

That will likely take longer after Austin Reaves, who has proved that he is a capable No. 2 to Luka Doncic, suffered an injury that will keep him out for at least a month. But that, according to Jeff Teague, could be a good concern to have.

I think it’s kind of a blessing in disguise… Bron as to turn it up… We might be seeing the best version of LeBron. But this also could be a kryptonite, cause at 41, he’s been having to have much demand on the court.

Jeff Teague said on the Club 520 Podcast

The former NBA champion believes it is time for LeBron James to step up, as the Lakers do not have enough production from the rest of the players to cover what Reaves used to do.

At the same time, Teague is also wary that all that pressure and stress on a 41-year-old will be too much, which could push him to wear out or simply struggle to keep pace with his teammates and opponents.

Paul Pierce adds on to LeBron James’ chemistry woes

As LeBron James looks to take on a bigger role with the Los Angeles Lakers, an old rival, Paul Pierce, said this about a concerning trend the franchise is facing:

When LeBron was out of the lineup, they had some chemistry going between Reaves and Luka… This ain’t gonna look right with Bron standing in the corner… It’s showing, on both sides of the ball… But everybody wanted to hate when I said it wasn’t going to work… 15-4 before, 6-5 when he is there.

Paul Pierce said on No Fouls Given

As someone who has battled against the Akron native, the NBA champion claimed that he had talked about his concerns about James’ role in the retooled Lakers.

At the time, many went back to troll Pierce, as the four-time champion had proved that he could do whatever his coaches asked him to do. But that was when James made his season debut.

Now, after many games, the Boston Celtics great believes his prophecy has come true, as the Lakers superstar’s time with his team this season has not been as fruitful as many want to believe.

Lakers’ player’s father and LeBron James are of the same age

As LeBron James turns 41, he is working his way towards building some chemistry with the current Lakers’ roster. It is not easy to blend in with players who are in his son’s age group.

Him and my dad are the same age, and my dad hasn’t played in like 10 years. So the stuff he does is incredible. Yeah, he’s not normal.

Nick Smith Jr. said

This was Nick Smith Jr., who signed with the franchise on a two-way deal. The top high school recruit from the class of 2022 is the same age as Bronny James.

At the same time, his father, Nick Smith Sr., is also 41. This means James Sr. is almost a fatherly figure to the former 27th overall pick, who has been contributing well whenever the Lakers have called his name.

To him, it is surreal to see someone as old as his father continue playing at such a high level. Now, Smith Jr. might be about to witness it up close when LeBron James ups the ante in their next slate of games.
