The beef between San Francisco 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward and New York Jets Sauce Gardner is nothing new. Ironically, the feud began because of a misunderstanding on Ward’s part.
During the recent Facetime interview with Kay Adams on her show Up and Adams, Ward disclosed that he wasn’t in a good mood following the Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He was surfing through social media and saw loads of criticism of the 49ers’ performance. Being unable to bear the constant flak, Ward retaliated, and unfortunately, the Jets defensive back fell into his sight. He surprised Adams, revealing that he had never met Sauce Gardner.
I never met Sauce; I never talked to the man. We had just lost the Super Bowl. I get on Twitter, and I see a bunch of people tweeting about our team losing the Super Bowl. In my head, I'm thinking like you in the NFL as well, like you didn't make the Super Bowl.Charvarius Ward told Kay Adams
Ward threw salt into the Jets’ abysmal season, stating that the second-year veteran Gardner had never played in the playoffs, unlike the 49ers. The 28-year-old wanted to take the tweet down, but it was too late.
I tried to take the tweet down so this doesn't blow up, but it already did, but I don't have no beef with Sauce. If I did, I'd just tell BA [Brandon Aiyuk] and Deebo [Samuel] to handle that for me.Charvarius Ward said

The 49ers drew the Jets in Week 1 of the 2024 season. Gardner may want to brace himself for a tough day at the office.
What happened between Charvarius Ward and Sauce Gardner?
After the Chiefs secured a back-to-back Super Bowl in February, Gardner shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter). The Cincinnati graduate did not hesitate to call out the 49ers, saying that they could not finish the job.
I told y'all. The 9ers might look better on paper, but the Chiefs always find a way.Sauce Gardner said per On3.com
Ward saw the tweet and gave a swift reply.
Boy, yo a** ain't never sniffed the playoffs. You watching from the couch. Worry about the sorry a** JETS. Everybody got something to say about the team in the Super Bowl. Your opinion doesn't need be heard, kid.Charvarius Ward replied

As Ward mentioned, he deleted the tweet, fearing escalation. The next time these two meet, it will be a dual to remember.
