Charvarius Ward lost his cool on Sunday when the Arizona Cardinals came to play at Levi’s Stadium. If the San Francisco 49ers staff hadn’t intervened, there might have been some dire consequences.
49ers dominated the possession but showed little results that allowed the Cardinals to stay in the game. Quarterback Kyler Murray twice made defense-splitting runs, and one of them ended in the endzone.
Murray also had a much better passing game. Tight end Trey McBride was one of the players he frequently targeted, resulting in ample second and third-down gains. Ward seemed to have had enough of the connection.

In one instance during the game, Ward and McBride found each other’s throats. The FOX Sports cameras caught McBride pushing Ward out of bounds and inside the 49ers’ dugout. Ward, on the other hand, yanked the Cardinals’ tight end’s helmet.
Even Dre Greenlaw, who has been injured since the Super Bowl in February, barged in to get a piece of the action. Greenlaw almost tackled McBride to the ground if the 49ers’ staff did not hold him and Ward down. The referee stopped the game momentarily to get the situation under control.

The game eventually ended in a disappointing loss for last season’s beaten Super Bowl finalists. A last-second kick from stand-in kicker Chad Ryland gave the Cardinals a one-point lead, ending the game 24-23.

The 49ers’ third defeat in five games may not be as alarming as it sounds, but there’s always a deeper problem that the organization tries to hide from the fans and reporters. Ward, who is in his third year in the Bay Area, brushed with the reason while speaking with 49ers insider Mike Silver.
This year, for sure, it feels weird. It feels real, real weird. I mean, hopefully, it’ll turn around, but it’s just real peculiar. We’ve got a lot of talent, and we’re losing games we’re supposed to win.

However, when Silver asked the 28-year-old defensive back to explain the reason behind his speculation, he hesitated.
Yeah, I know exactly what [the problem] is… but I don’t want to say.

Kyle Shanahan named almost all the first team members, barring a couple to face the Cardinals, and yet they weren’t able to make the most of it. Quarterback Brock Purdy went 19 from 35 for 244 yards, one touchdown, and two picks.
Star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk had the best game of the year with 8 receptions for 147 yards. Tight end George Kittle, who also caught eight passes, scored the only touchdown of the game.
They need to start winning games or will fall behind the competition. Up next, they will face the Seattle Seahawks, followed by a Super Bowl rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs.
