Weakness does not break intentions, as proved by some women who did not allow their disabilities to speak for them. Every four years, the Paralympic Games both the summer and winter seasons emphasize the sporting achievements of challenged persons.
We all know women who made their country proud and heard enormous stories about them. Here there are some Paralympians who brightened their country’s name.

Deepa Malik
In 1968, India debuted its Paralympics Games and Deepa Malik is the first female athlete who represents its nation and became India’s first and oldest athlete to win a medal at the Paralympics.
Paralyzed from the chest down, Deepa created history by winning a silver medal in the shot put F-53 event for India at 2016 Rio Paralympics and also won the gold medal in the F-53\54 Javelin event at the para athletic Grand Prix in Dubai.
The 45-year-old was diagnosed with a spinal tumor that made him not to walk, even with being in a wheelchair, she is a successful entrepreneur, a former beauty queen, and a successful international swimmer.
She is also awarded Arjuna Award and Asian record holder in the javelin throw. Malika won silver medals at the World Championships in the shot put and discus throw in 2011. Malik holds a total of 54 national gold medals and 13 international medals.
Sarah Storey
Storey is a British female Paralympian, who won the gold medal in the C5 3000m individual competition final. The 38-year-old also follows swimming beside cycling. She was born without a functioning left hand and now she holds 23 Paralympic medals.
In 2018, she was named as Great Britain’s most decorated female Paralympian. She was also awarded for the BBC’s Sports Personality of the year award.
Natalie du Toit
Natalie is one of South Africa’s most inspiring athletes as she participated in 13 Paralympic swimming tournaments in the year between 2004 and 2012 and won gold in all 13 events.
Natalie created history by becoming the first handicapped who qualify for the Summer Olympic Games. The swimmer also won 12 World Championship golds in her career.
Yu Chui Yee
The “Seven gold princess” is Hong Kong’s legend who is in a wheelchair as she lost a left leg to bone cancer when she was 11. She is known for her double gold performance in London Olympics 2012. Yu Chuu Yee also won a medal each of the nine times when she played in Paralympics tournaments and seven of them are gold medals.
Yee earned a gold medal at the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports (IWAS) Wheelchair Fencing World Cup in Warsaw, Poland.
Trischa Zorn
Trischa Zorn was born without sight and contended in Paralympic swimming in S12, SB12, and SM12 disability categories in the year between 1980 and 2004. She clenched 46 Paralympic medals and out of the 36 were gold in her entire career.
The American athlete is remembered as the most prosperous player in the history of the Games as she took 55 medals home and enlisted into the Paralympic Hall of Fame in 2012.
