7 people arrested in connection with Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce burglaries
Seven persons, allegedly part of an infamous theft group, have been arrested in connection with Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes' burglaries.

The burglars of the regular season have finally been caught! Seven alleged members of the South America Theft Group have been charged for a string of bulagaries in the houses of prominent athletes, including Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes during the 2024 regular season.
Federal Prosecutors of Tampa have charged the seven men with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property. Being part of the infamous group, they allegedly partake in targeting “high-profile athletes” of the NFL and NBA to burglarize their property while they were at the games.
Six such cases were reported months ago, three of those victims were Mahomes, Kelce, and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals. The United States District Court in Middle District Florida filed the criminal complaint on January 30th that was unsealed on February 18th. The seven accused reportedly stole property worth $2 million.
The youngest of those seven accused is Ignacio Zuniga Cartes, 20, who was joined by Jordan Quiroga Sanchez, 22, Bastian Orellano Morales, 23, Alexander Huiaguil Chavez and Pablo Zuniga Cartes, 24, Bastian Jimenez Freraut, 27 and Sergio Ortega Cabello, 38.
According to records obtained by NBC News, Morles, Sanches, Chavez, and Cabello were arrested on January 22. They pleaded not guilty to the multiple charges of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, participating in a criminal gang, obstructing official business, and possessing criminal tools.
Authorities unveil details of burglaries targeting Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce
The houses of the Kansas City Chiefs stars were burglarized within 48 hours in October 2024. The eight-acre Belton, Missouri estate owned by the elite quarterback was targetted around midnight, while Kelce’s 17,000-square-foot home in Leawood, Kansas was targetted the next day.

The U.S. Attorney’s office also included an image of the accused persons with the stolen items, in which, “P. Zuniga Cartes is wearing a Kansas City Chiefs shirt in the photo.” If they were found guilty, each of them could face a maximum imprisonment of 10 years.
The thieves reportedly stole $20,000 from Kelce’s property and damaged a rear door as well. Authorities also confirmed they took, “jewelry, watches, cash and other luxury merchandise” from the houses of the Chiefs stars. On the other hand, they stole “designer luggage, glasses, watches and jewelry valued at about $300,000” from Burrow’s house which was burglarized on December 9.
