No wonder she was joking around when claiming that her rookie salary was not enough to cover her rent. But that video went viral as it seemed as if she was calling out the league. But instead, it was trying to prove that she does not even think about what she makes as a basketball player.
Since then, that controversy has sparked debates as some believe it is a combination of her ignorance and disregard for her profession. But for rapper Cam’ron, it paints a completely different picture in his mind. He explained his reasoning while on the podcast It Is What It Is.
First, you don’t know how much you make a year. Secondly, so you don’t know what your rent is. I wish you don’t go broke. In all seriousness, Angel Reese, make sure you stay on top of these financial advisors, these people taking care of your money. Don’t take it for granted.

Cam’ron knows the rookie star makes a lot of money through endorsements. But he feels if Angel Reese does not know the basic expenses and incomes, she is not aware how her money is flowing. If the Chicago Sky star does not get a grip of things early, it will be difficult down the line, according to the rapper.
Angel Reese can look at broke NBA stars as reference
Stories of basketball players losing millions of dollars over a course of time are rife throughout the league. A rare few have been able to use the money they earned to build on and make it bigger. Some save most of it and live off the earnings. But there are many, who have lost a lot of money.
WNBA players do not earn much, which makes them careful with money. But what Angel Reese earns through endorsements is similar to how NBA stars earn. When millions come in, it is generally difficult for the naive and ignorant to keep a tab on what is going out, just like what happened with Dwight Howard. That is where Cam’ron wants Angel Reese to focus.
How former star Delonte West ended up losing all his money despite earning considerably more than what the WNBA rookie does, can be another reference. Meanwhile, Reese’s association with Shaquille O’Neal suggests she might be in good hands. However, not knowing the basics is generally the first step to losing money.
