A viral post has emerged on the internet that shows Robert Bobroczkyi, a former high school basketball sensation, on the set of the popular movie, The Alien. The 7-foot-7 Romanian basketball player gained viral fame in 2016-17 for his towering frame and now he is making use of his gigantic presence outside the court.
His acting debut is in the latest installment of the Alien movie franchise, “Alien: Romulus” where he plays the terrifying creature, The Offspring, which is a hybrid human/Xenomorph born to the film’s protagonist. This comes after he had finished playing college basketball at Rochester Christian University in Michigan and maybe wants to try a different career path.
His performance was so great that it led visual effects supervisor Daniel Macarin to praise his performance, where he asserted that his unique size brought the fear factor back. Not only that, the animation supervisor Ludovic Chailloleau also commended Robert Bobroczkyi‘s ability as he brought what he called a new visual element to the film.
The movie which had a budget of $80 million has grossed $50 million in its first week of release, by its standards seems like a success. This isn’t the first person tied to basketball that has gotten a role in acting, as the legendary LeBron James leads the honored list.
Florida commit Olivier Rioux continues to grow, sets new record at 7’9″
The Romanian giant isn’t the only one fascinating fans with his impressive height, as Olivier Rioux, who has committed to the University of Florida’s men’s basketball team. Reports indicate that he has grown to an astonishing 7’9″, extending his own Guinness World Record as the tallest teenager in the world.
Furthermore, Rioux’s height has been tracked since childhood, and he has exhibited remarkable growth spurts over the years. Interestingly, Rioux’s family is notably tall, with his father, mother, and older brother all standing above 6’2″. However, Rioux’s growth has exceeded expectations, with him reaching 7’5″ at just 16 years old and now surpassing 7’9″.
The world’s tallest teenager is seen as a 3-star prospect, and is set to join the Division I for Florida, which had a successful season last year with 24 wins and an appearance in the SEC tournament final. All eyes would surely be on Rioux as basketball fans get to see if he can live up to the hype and potential.
