Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have 47 Grand Slam titles between them. On their almost two-decades-long journey, they’ve claimed countless records whilst maintaining the highest level of countenance. Further, the duo, along with Roger Federer form ‘The Big Three,’ which has given way to the greatest era of men’s tennis. 

Due to their dominance on the court, the trio’s peers refer to them with the utmost respect. Hence, it doesn’t shock a single soul when many top-tier players choose one of the three when asked to pick a player who’ll win a set to save their lives. 

Nadal and Nole lead the pack as per the Players’ Picks

In a video released by the ATP Tour, Andy Murray, Marin Cilic, Kei Nishikori, Denis Shapovalov and Diego Schwartzman chose Djokovic for the aforementioned question. Moreover, Daniil Medvedev stated, “I can say any of the Big Three, but when Novak is playing his best tennis, he is unbelievable. So it would be him.”

Djokovic himself on the other hand didn’t bat an eye when asked the question and chose Nadal. The Serb stated that this choice did not even warrant any explanation. “I think Rafael Nadal on clay. It’s obvious isn’t it? You know why I picked him.”

Dominic Thiem, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Borna Coric, Alex De Minaur and Grigor Dimitrov echoed the World No.1’s opinion. “Rafa! No doubt about it. He’d rather die first than (lose),” said Dimitrov.

Nadal however chose Federer to play for his life. Further, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Fabio Fognini shared the World No.2’s opinion. 

Andrey Rublev chose Thiem and Gael Monfils picked his partner, Elina Svitolina. Apart from the duo, every other player chose one amongst ‘The Big Three.’
