Watch: Roger Federer gearing up to lift his 21st Grand Slam title

Roger Federer is quite simply one of the greatest tennis players to ever exist. He and Rafael Nadal hold the record of attaining the most number of Grand Slam titles on the ATP Tour. Federer, the current World No.5, remained on the sidelines during 2020 after a successful run at the Australian Open.

He took time off to recover from the knee surgery he underwent, but has assured his supporters that a comeback is in the charts for 2021. However, the Swiss Maestro has been persistent about not rushing his recovery. Even so, the 39-year-old was recently spotted practising in Dubai.

Roger takes to the courts in Dubai

A clip has emerged which showcases the tennis ace practising on the tennis courts of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dubai. This happens to be one of the handful of instances wherein Roger has been captured on the court after his year-long hiatus from tennis.

The 14-second long video was posted on Twitter by former Indian diplomat and current Deccan Chronicles columnist, K.C. Singh. Further, Federer has also confirmed that he is residing in Dubai with his wife and kids at the moment.

The World No.5 can be seen doing his famous racquet ‘twirl’ before proceeding to take a step forward. Then he hits his much-envied and yet improved one-handed backhand.

Since the Australian Open 2021 is right around the corner, Federer seems to have picked a spot which bears similar weather conditions to the courts where he’ll make his comeback and hope to lift his 21st Major title.
