Arsenal set to complete the signing of Martin Odegaard

Martin Odegaard has reportedly chosen Arsenal as his preferred destination over Real Sociedad. Odegaard made his intentions clear to Zidane that he wanted a move away from the club.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta spoke with the player directly which influenced his decision to join the club. Odegaard is expected to join Arsenal on a six-month loan deal, not having an option to buy.
Lack of minutes at Madrid frustrated the young midfielder
Arsenal have a good relationship with Los Blancos, as another Madrid player Ceballos is also on loan at the club. The presence of Ceballos had a role as Odegaard chose Arsenal over other clubs.
Sevilla and Real Sociedad were the other clubs who had shown interest in the player. However, Arsenal’s technical director Edu began negotiations last week for the player and is on the cusp of a successful deal. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the transfer and an official announcement is expected soon.
The Gunners have had many players leaving in the January transfer window in a bid to reorganize their squad. Arsenal are having problems in their attacking play as they lack a creative midfielder. The Norwegian midfielder perfectly fits the bill for Mikel Arteta and the club.
Odegaard will look forward to a successful 6 months at Arsenal to regain his last season’s form. Real Madrid have given the green light for the loan as they see Odegaard as a long term prospect.
