Dana White couldn’t disagree more with Lawrence Epstein after the COO made some recent statements about WWE and UFC fans. The merger between UFC and WWE became official with the announcement of the TKO sports entertainment company on Tuesday, September 12th.
According to Lawrence Epstein, UFC’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, one of the merger’s objectives is to convert WWE fans into UFC enthusiasts and vice versa. However, Dana White doesn’t share the same idea at all and recently, during the press conference for Contender Series 62, he slammed Epstein for his statement.
“One of the dumbest statements of all time,” White said. “I don’t know why he said that. I don’t even know what to say to that. No, there’s no – there’s some crossover. Some people like WWE, some people like UFC, some like both. I don’t think there’s ever gonna be a day where we turn every UFC fan into a WWE fan or every WWE fan into a UFC fan….What’s beautiful about the synergy between these two fanbases is they are very completely opposite. There’s very little crossover.”
According to White, the UFC and WWE are very different and that actually helps in building their synergy. White explained that there is a chance that there can be a misunderstanding about Epstein’s statements but regardless of it, he doesn’t agree with them at all.
Dana White gets promoted to CEO of UFC after WWE merger

Dana White’s role as President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has come to an end. In the wake of the recent merger with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where both organizations now operate under the banner of TKO Group Holdings, Inc. (TKO), White has now taken the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the UFC. Vince McMahon will take on the role of chairman at TKO, while Ari Emanuel will assume the position of CEO.
Talking about the latest developments, White said at the press conference, “I’m excited about the future and what we’re going to do and I always am, regardless, but after this merger, we’re just so much more powerful than we were yesterday. Everything that goes on here I determine. Nothing has changed. We’re going to continue to kick ass like we do every single year.”
White is undoubtedly one of the biggest names who built UFC from what was a company on the verge of bankruptcy. Over the years, White has held on to his position and given everything to this company. Fans believe that White definitely deserves this position and as expected will do a great job.
