With another year of intense and fantastic tennis season coming to a wrap, several sites are releasing the memorable highlights of the year. One such incident took place when Eurosport gave their verdict on the best rivalry that stood out this year. To everyone’s shock, Eurosport regarded the battle between Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev as the most heated rivalry ahead of the battle between the top two players in the world.
With Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz not getting a spot in the best rivalry category, tennis fans across the world have raised their concerns over the biased judgment of Eurosport. Many fans are pulling out facts as to why Medvedev-Zverev was regarded as the best despite not a single encounter between them happening at any of the Grand Slam tournaments.
Djokovic and Alcaraz on the other hand played a total of four times this season with Djokovic winning three times and Alcaraz winning once. With all of those matches taking place in major competitions and either on stages such as the semi-final or the finals, the fans are spamming the entire post regarding the Alcaraz-Djokovic battle as the rightful winner.
How the Zverev-Medvedev battle fared out this year:
Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev have provided tennis fans with some enthralling tennis battles this year but that by no means did live up to the hype generated through the Alcaraz-Djokovic matches. Zverev and Medvedev have faced each other six times this season and it has been pretty darn one-sided for most of the matches.

Some of the Twitter reactions:
Medvedev won five matches while Zverev could taste victory only once at the round of 16 matchup of the Cincinnati Masters. Medvedev on the other hand has been pretty successful in handing out straight sets defeats to the German in three matches. But it is no secret that their first encounter of the year had tennis fans still drooling over considering the amount of intensity both players brought into the match.
