Stephen Curry is considered one of the greatest shooters to ever play the game. He usually finds a way to score buckets every time he has the ball in his hands. But what if someone much shorter than Curry blocks his shot? Such a rare occurrence happened today, from the 5’8″ Jacob Gilyard. And basketball fans cannot help but troll the Warriors superstar.

The play against the Memphis Grizzlies occurred when only six minutes were left before the end of regulation. The shot clock was winding down to its last 10 seconds. Stephen Curry started dribbling the ball near the left corner. After a couple of dribbles, Curry stepped back to shoot a jumper, only for the Grizzlies player to slap the ball out of his hands from the side. Gilyard is one of the shortest players in the league, standing at just 5′ 8″.

Jacob Gilyard is just in his second season in the league. Last season, he only played in one game. This year with the slew of injuries the Grizzlies have suffered, Gilyard has been called upon more often. This season he has started 10 games, but the matchup against the Golden State Warriors proved his best to date.

The injury-depleted Grizzlies lost the game 101-121 to the Warriors. The average height of a player in the NBA is 6′ 5″. Gilyard is considered to be too short for the league but made the night more spectacular with the block. He finished with 16 points and 5 assists to cap a career night.
