Travis Kelce, the tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs, expressed his gratitude to the team’s analytics coordinator for preparing the team with the nitty-gritty of the overtime rules post the Super Bowl win. The Super Bowl LVIII was the first game that was decided on the new overtime rules and it created a huge controversy. The San Francisco 49ers head coach and players expressed their agony by saying that they were not aware of the new overtime rules.

On the other hand, an exact opposite story is shared by the Chiefs’ camp. Travis Kelce thanked the analyst coordinator Mike Frazier for giving a good lesson to the players regarding the OT rules.

Kelce revealed that Frazier spent much time discussing the OT strategies. In multiple team meetings, the coordinator enlightened the team members with perfect OT tactics and it paid off against the Niners.

My guy Mike Frazier--He’s the one that goes through all these scenarios, all these big-time situations, end of half, end of game, rule changes, he comes up and stands in front of the team, and when he comes in front of the team everyone yells, ‘Fraaaaz!’
Kelce via his New Heights podcast.

If Frazier is the first one to get credit for the Chiefs recent Super Bowl win, then the second one is Andy Reid, who got some appreciation from Travis Kelce. The TE spoke highly of Reid for allowing Frazier enough room to decide the OT.

He goes over these kinds of situations. I’m pretty sure we went over the overtime rules three times, four times in a two-week span--Every single week we talked about overtime rules in the playoffs and Frazier was up front, giving what we would do in all these scenarios. So everybody on the team, we knew exactly what the best situation was, how we were going to handle it.

Multiple 49ers players admitted to not knowing the OT rules post Super Bowl loss

The San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and multiple players are not getting over the OT rules. They shockingly admitted they were not aware of the fact that the revised OT rules give both teams an equal opportunity to win the game.

Earlier, the winner was based on the teams that scored the first points. Nevertheless, the league changed the rules in March 2022 and since then the Super Bowl LVIII was the first game that was decided on the new rules.

Following all the conditions, HC Shanahan claimed that the discussions over these do not matter anymore as the results are not going to be changed. However, they laminated over the situation earlier.
