Luka Doncic admits to ketamine use in Lakers star’s Caleb Pressley interview
Luka Doncic admitted to using the recreational drug in perhaps his funniest interview ever with Caleb Pressley.

Luka Doncic
Being an MVP candidate and an NBA basketball superstar is nothing new for Luka Doncic. The Slovenian sealed five straight All-NBA First Team selections during his first few seasons with the Dallas Mavericks. However, being the franchise cornerstone for the storied Los Angeles Lakers imparts a whole new level of superstardom for the 26-year-old. He’s doing well to leverage his reignited fame after getting traded.
Luka Doncic has always been recognized as one of the league’s best ambassadors. He has a fun, watchable style of play, and he can always turn on his charisma effortlessly. He engages with kids, signs autographs and has always been known to have a fun-loving personality. He also seems to have no ego, which, when combined with his psychopathic competitive streak, makes him the total package.
Even though the Dallas Mavericks had done a valiant job of showcasing his persona, he now has opportunities that he possibly didn’t have before. His unplugged, jocular interview with Caleb Pressley, released today, illustrates just how much fun he can be in the right settings. The Barstool analyst and former quarterback is known for conducting interviews with comic relief. The Luka Doncic episode fits the mould like a glove.
One of the most hilarious questions posed by Pressley to Doncic was the subject of his LeBron James fandom. James’ stans on Twitter (now known as X) are often bracketed into a derogatory category of ‘Brons*xuals’. This word isn’t something that would be approved at workplaces anywhere. But Pressley had no hesitation in asking Doncic whether he is one, to which the Slovenian replied in the affirmative.

The nine-minute clip had a number of highlights and moments that could leave fans rolling on the floor. Doncic was probed on topics ranging from the routine to completely unserious. The final question of the show was in a segment titled ‘Skeletons in the closet’. Predictably, Doncic was asked whether he had any skeletons of his own to disclose.
The Lakers star pondered on the question for a bit. He noted that he had never done something harmful to someone else in his life. He then hinted at a few childhood indiscretions like stealing stuff. Finally, Doncic settled on his answer – using the drug ketamine recreationally.
Luka Doncic gave his take on Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers
Unlike the typical American basketball fan, Doncic isn’t really plugged into the college circuit. The Slovenian was a prodigy who turned out for perhaps the 31st best basketball team in the world at the age of 16, so his disinterest in NCAA basketball at a much lower level is quite natural, especially given that he lived in Spain during his formative basketball years.
However, Doncic stated that he does follow WNBA basketball. He maintains a healthy dose of respect for his female counterparts, as he has stated. Pressley asked him to name his favorite women’s basketball player, and Doncic named Caitlin Clark as his pick unflinchingly. In his attempt to create a viral moment, Pressley followed this question with one about Paige Bueckers.
“who’s your favorite women’s basketball player?”

luka dončić: “caitlin clark.”
“you don’t like paige bueckers?”
luka: “*shrugs* she’s okay. haven’t seen her play in the wnba, so.” pic.twitter.com/6ZQDnf8qgh
Luka Doncic replied that he hadn’t followed Bueckers’ journey through UConn. However, he did admit to following Clark during the 2024 WNBA season. Doncic tipped Bueckers to do good things with the Dallas Wings franchise. But it was amply clear who he thinks the world’s best woman in basketball is.
