Tyler Herro admits to needing Jimmy Butler to win with Miami Heat
Heat star Tyler Herro did not hold back his feelings regarding former player Jimmy Butler during ongoing playoff series against the Cavs.

Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro
The Miami Heat’s dreams of a deep NBA playoff run were all but shattered after their devastating 124-87 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3. The Heat entered their first postseason game at Kaseya Center behind 2-0 after dropping their first two games in Cleveland. But Game 3 wasn’t any different, especially for Heat standout Tyler Herro, who was distraught.
In addition, Herro went on to speak on many issues in and around the Heat this season. The Heat, in general, have been poor all season. Things became worse when their star Jimmy Butler was traded to the Golden State Warriors after immense drama behind the scenes. Notably, Herro stunned the Heat fanbase after his recent admission about Butler.
Herro feels that their chances of competing this season have been harmed by Butler’s absence and that things would be entirely different if he were on the team.
Obviously, I know I need Jimmy to win. If we had Jimmy right now, I feel like it’d be a completely different situation, We probably wouldn’t even be the eighth seed.
Tyler Herro said
Tyler Herro comments on Jimmy Butler’s absence after 124-87 loss in game 3: “Obviously, I know I need Jimmy to win. If we had Jimmy right now, I feel like it’d be a completely different situation. We probably wouldn’t even be the eighth seed.”

It’s important to note that Herro made this admission before his side’s Game 3 loss to the Cavs. So the Heat star and his teammates already know that the team chemistry has been hampered after Butler’s trade. Also, they have a huge hole in attack, with only Herro and Bam Adebayo providing for their side consistently.
Naturally, Herro was a welcome surprise during the Heat’s 2020 Finals run as a rookie playoff contributor. He then failed to live up to his expectations in the 2021 and 2022 Playoffs. Later, he suffered a season-ending injury and missed most of the 2023 NBA season. Now, Herro is one of the mainstays at the Heat, but he has no one to accompany him in attack.
The Heat will look to build a core attack around the likes of Herro and Adebayo. With this playoff series likely done, the Heat should focus on the offseason to build a strong team for the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season.
Warriors HC Steve Kerr heaps huge praise on Jimmy Butler’s inclusion in his squad
Jimmy Butler has been a great addition to the Golden State Warriors ever since he was acquired in February. The Warriors qualified for the NBA playoffs after missing out on it last season. Thanks to Butler’s heroics alongside the likes of Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. Notably, Warriors HC Steve Kerr had great praise for Bulter via ESPN.
The exciting thing is Jimmy gives us the opportunity to extend this thing by a couple of years, he’s that good. He’s also the kind of athlete who’s going to age well because he’s not relying on explosive leaping ability. It’s more savvy and strength, and he’s such a smart player.
Steve Kerr said,
In front of a grateful Chase Center crowd, Butler wants to make his postseason comeback after completing just eight minutes in Game 2 and missing Game 3 due to a serious muscle injury. After a one-year hiatus, Butler has returned the Warriors to the postseason and revitalized Curry, the final act of this legendary run.
Jimmy Butler remains a ‘doubt’ going into crucial Warriors-Rockets Game 4
The Golden State Warriors are in the driving seat in their ongoing playoff series against the Houston Rockets, leading 2-1. However, their star, Jimmy Butler, missed Game 3 due to an injury(as mentioned above), raising doubts about his status in the upcoming Game 4. Per The Athletic’s Anthony Slater, Butler is listed as ‘questionable’ on the Game 4 injury report.

Only change on the Houston side: Jock Landale upgraded from out to probable. Likely out of the rotation regardless.
Other sources also say that Butler will probably be a game-time decision for Monday’s Game 4 against the Houston Rockets, even if he is still listed as questionable on the official injury report. It remains to be seen how this matter unfolds in the coming hours.
