Last Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway witnessed multiple chaot9c moments, including the big one that was missing from Talladega. Most of the fans and drivers aren’t impressed by how the repave has changed the track. Amidst this discussion started on social media about reconfiguring Texas track like Atlanta and Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. isn’t having it.
The Atalanta Motor Speedway was reconfigured from a short track a short Superspeedway, which now host wild races, making the races entertaining to fans that loves the chaotic side of racing. Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. doesn’t want this Atlantification and was quick to call out the discussion via his podcast, asserting the repaved track is getting back to its best.
I’d seen some messages on social about someone thinking that there was a track that was considering that, but it is not Texas. And I know a lot of people were going, ‘Oh, it’s got to be Texas because, well, Marcus Smith owns Atlanta and he loves what’s happened there, so why wouldn’t he try to take it to Texas?

The track is approaching its peak years in terms of the asphalt age and slickness, something that shouldn’t be messed with. He then highlighted how impressive Xfinity race was on Saturday and how much the track demanded from its drivers, showing the good future, it can have. So, he has urged NASCAR to doesn’t change anything about TMS.
I think Texas right now is starting to get into its peak in terms of the age of the asphalt, how slick it was. Dude, those Xfinity guys were busting their ass all over the place. That’s what we need. Don’t change nothing. Don’t. Don’t touch it. Don’t change anything. Don’t move anything, right? Leave it.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. calls out NASCAR minimum speed rule after Texas
The two times Xfinity Series champion have another issue with NASCAR. His driver and the reigning second division champion Justin Allgaier was on course to winning the race, leading 99 laps before he was involved in a wreck. He had contact with Kris Wright, a lapped car barely making minimum speed.

He is furious with NASCAR over the minimum speed rule and has urged then to modify it after the ridiculous incident on Saturday. The veteran believes the current minimum speed is easily achievable in almost all of the tracks and it needs to be tougher to ensure such situation doesn’t happen again.
I’m not gonna give the guy a ton of [expletive]. What I can say is and I’ve had this problem for a long time back even when I was way early in my own driving career, the minimum speed rule is not worth anything. The minimum speed rule is egregiously lenient. It’s ridiculous. If you look at what minimum speed is at all these racetracks it is ridiculous…it should be a much more tougher thing to achieve.

The HOF racer is on point with his comments, as the slower cars are always a problem for the other drivers, and they need to be parked if they are not meeting a higher standard. It would be interesting to see if NASCAR will listen to their most famous racer and makes the changes.
