Draymond Green does not shy away from speaking his mind to anyone on the court. Such instances are visible, questionable dots on an otherwise stellar basketball legacy. The Golden State Warriors star resorts to such antics whenever the game is not going his way.

When he stays true to his role as a leader, he quietly brings out a masterclass on defense. Along with his exceptional playmaking, the 35-year-old has been a focal point for the Warriors’ dynastic run over the past decade.

His composed play helped the Warriors seal their first-round playoff series against the Houston Rockets, while also helping to take the lead in the second round against the Minnesota Timberwolves. But since Game 1, his attitude on the court has gone downhill.

Be it arguing with officials, using his arms and legs to flop, taunting and trash-talking Wolves players and fans, all have contributed somewhere to their three straight losses. But the latest was when he indicated that the officials were into something else.

Green suggested that the officials were working as per the gambling spread. Now, the league has stepped in. Based on lip reading, they have slapped a $50K fine on the former Defensive Player of the Year. They believe he was ‘questioning the integrity of game officials’.

The 50K fine might not make a dent in Draymond Green’s bank account, considering he earns $24 million a season. Rather, it was the league’s way of informing players to stop suggesting the officials are working on an agenda. They have fined players in the past, such as Green’s rival, Rudy Gobert.

Fans lose it after league fines Draymond Green $50K

Basketball fans could not digest this $50k fine issued by the league. They believe that Draymond Green essentially exposed the truth. He believed the officiating was in line with the score spread on that game. That is why he informed his team, and they played a part in breaking that spread.

Fans believe the league and its officials are a major part of gambling. They might have banned Jontay Porter for life, but they do it to ensure the money stays with them. Fans believe Green was penalized for suggesting the league was intentionally fixing games. Check out examples of those comments below.

Draymond Green might not care, as he usually does. Other than when he used his body to inflict injury on someone, he has never bothered to discuss those topics on his podcast. But he does bring up topics where he believes he was right.

Considering this is a sensitive matter, the Michigan native might not bring it up on his podcast. But fans have received further evidence that some decisions seem intentional. Now that gambling is legal, it further makes the collaboration questionable.

Green and Warriors might end season tonight

Draymond Green and his Golden State Warriors were supposed to hold the fort against the Minnesota Timberwolves until Stephen Curry returns from injury. But three straight losses complicated matters, and now they are on the verge of ending their season.

Curry is not expected to suit up until Game 6. He might not have to do that, considering they are playing on the road and the Timberwolves would want to end the series at home. That way, they can rest up before facing their Western Conference Finals opponents.

Green and his teammates could upset the Wolves and force a Game 6. That could bring Curry back into the fold and maybe give them a slim chance to cause an upset. But fatigue has also played its part, and their slow jogs on the court prove they are not physically capable of taking on the bigger, faster Wolves.
