The Indy 500 is the ‘greatest spectacle of racing,’ the biggest open-wheel racing event in the US. For this year’s race, former NASCAR star Danica Patrick is set to return to broadcasting, alongside three-time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart. The duo will certainly create an exciting show for fans tuning in on race day.

Patrick and Stewart will be joining the broadcast crew of Fox Sports this year. The two will join the broadcaster’s regular reporting team of Will Buxton, James Hinchcliffe, and Townsend Bell. Jamie Little, Kevin Lee, and Georgia Henneberry.

Danica Patrick is one of the most successful women in the world of motorsport. The 43-year-old has raced in NASCAR as well as IndyCar. She is also the first woman to ever lead the Indy 500. Her best finish at the race was third in 2009. Patrick has a vast experience in the world of broadcasting, having covered NASCAR, IndyCar and Formula 1 for years now. She has been a regular at the 500 since 2019.

Tony Stewart needs no introduction. The 53-year-old is one of the most successful drivers in NASCAR history with three championships to his name. Until last year, Stewart was the co-owner of Stewart-Haas Racing, before the team ceased operations.

Moreover, he is also the only driver to complete the 1100 miles of the Memorial Day Double, that includes the Indy 500 and the Coca Cola 600. This is something Kyle Larson will be looking to achieve this time around.

Stewart was thrilled to be joining the Fox broadcasting team for this year’s Indy 500. Following the official announcement from the broadcaster, the 53-year-old was quick to express his feelings on X. Tony Stewart shared a picture of him wearing a suit and holding the Fox mic at an IndyCar race. The NASCAR veteran wrote that he was delighted to be covering the 109th iteration of the 500.

Certainly, the broadcasting team will provide some good insight for fans. Tony Stewart will be able to bring his experience from his championship winning days to the viewers. On the other hand, Danica Patrick, who has become a regular in TV broadcasting will know how to get everyone up to speed with whatever is happening in the field.

Moreover, Will Buxton, who switched from F1 to IndyCar as a presenter this year will bring a whole new perspective to the race. Buxton will be able to even make comparisons between the 500 and F1, something that would be interesting to hear during the race.
