While speaking to the reporters in the press conference after the game, Knoblauch expressed that his team was ‘short-handed’ for around 6 minutes in the third period. The Stars scored 3 goals in this power-play situation, which turned out to be the turning point of the game.

After the first two periods, we felt it was a good start, and then it just turned in the third period. We’re going to have to put this one behind us and move on. We’ve had some heartbreaking losses in the playoffs, and we’ve been able to rebound nicely and not worry too much about it.

Game 2 of this series will take place on Friday. Following this, the action will shift to Rogers Place on Sunday. The Oilers would be hoping to return home with a positive result from the next game.
