Stars Coach Peter DeBoer DRAGS Connor McDavid’s Name While Reflecting on Darnell Nurse’s Slashing on Roope Hintz in Game 2
Peter DeBoer was not happy with the slashing of Darnell Nurse on Roope Hintz and brought up the name of Connor McDavid while discussing it.

Game 2 between the Edmonton Oilers and the Dallas Stars saw Darnell Nurse come under the spotlight. The Oilers defenseman slashed the leg of Roope Hintz, which led to the Stars’ player getting injured. After the game, Stars coach Peter DeBoer dragged the name of Oilers captain Connor McDavid while reflecting on this incident.
The incident took place in the third period when the Oilers were 3-0 up. Nurse would use his hockey stick and slash the leg of Hintz.
The Stars’ forward would lie down for a while before being helped off the ice by his teammates. He was forced to exit the game due to this slash from Nurse and headed straight down the tunnel.

Coach Peter DeBoer was not impressed with this hit from Nurse and the lack of a major penalty. The officials would review the play for a potential major penalty but later handed the defenseman a 2-minute minor penalty.
In the press conference after the game, DeBoer dragged the name of Connor McDavid while reacting to this slash from Nurse. The Stars’ head coach questioned whether that would have been a 5-minute major if McDavid got carried like that off the ice.

Jamie Benn also took a shot at Connor McDavid following Darnell Nurse’s slash on Roope Hintz
Darnell Nurse’s actions in Game 2 on Roope Hintz became the talking point from this matchup. While the fans on social media were left in splits regarding this, the Dallas Stars were not impressed with it at all. Following the game, Captain Jamie Benn also took a shot at Connor McDavid.

While speaking with The Athletic’s Mark Lazerus, the Stars captain admitted that the team did not like the slash from Nurse. He would later share the same sentiment as his head coach and wondered what would have happened if his counterpart had gotten injured like this by someone.

Hintz has been one of the top performers for the team in the playoffs this year. In 15 games, the 28-year-old has registered 5 goals and 6 assists (11 points). His participation in Game 3 is now in doubt following the slash from Nurse.
Mason Marchment issues warning to Darnell Nurse and Oilers for Game 3
The Dallas Stars were not at all pleased to see Roope Hintz head to the locker room following the slash from Darnell Nurse. After the game, Hintz’s teammate, Mason Marchment, issued a stern warning to Nurse and the Edmonton Oilers for Game 3.

While speaking to the reporters after the 3-0 loss, Marchment was asked whether this hit from Nurse would carry over to the next game. Marchment would nod his head and proceed to deliver a warning to Nurse and the Oilers.

Game 3 of this Western Conference Final will take place on Sunday, May 25th at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Canada. With the series leveled at 1-1, the action will return to the American Airlines in Dallas later on.
