It was about time that the New York Knicks provided a reaction in the Eastern Conference Finals. On Sunday, May 25, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, they pulled off a spectacular comeback to defeat the Indiana Pacers 106-100 in Game 3 of the ECF after losing the previous two games.
Beating the Pacers on home turf was not an easy task to pull off for the Knicks, especially considering their previous two games. However, the likes of Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns were adamant to get back on track in the ongoing playoff series.
This Knicks’ victory not only rescued their season but also altered the course of this series. If they had lost, they would have been placed on life support.
In the second quarter, the Knicks were behind by 20 points, and it appeared as though the Pacers would run them out of the arena. However, the Knicks persevered and were down 13 at the half. In the second half, they improved their defense, which contributed to the game’s shift. The fourth quarter was a turning point.

Led by Brunson and KAT, the Knicks’ duo finally delivered. The former dropped 23 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist against the Pacers. As for KAT, throughout the playoffs, his defense has occasionally been problematic. However, he delivered (24 points, 15 rebounds), helping the Knicks regain the lead with a 20-point fourth quarter that put the team on his back.
He made 3-of-4 three-pointers and was 6-of-9 from the field overall. Notably, Knicks HC Tom Thibodeau is not known to make changes to his lineup, but for Game 3, he did make a change. Mitchell Robinson, whose defense has changed games recently, was added to the starting frontcourt with Towns after Thibodeau sent Josh Hart to the bench.
All said and done, the Knicks have provided their fans immense hope going into an important Game 4 clash. This comeback has also sent many Knicks fans into a frenzy around the NBA community.

Given that, the job is still not done for the Knicks as they still trail the Pacers in this series by 2-1. Now, only time will tell whether or not will Jalen Brunson and the Knicks will continue to be a formidable road team in the postseason, or whether Indiana will be able to build on their momentum.
Jalen Brunson and Kal-Anthony Towns were involved in a hilarious interaction during their post-match presser
Brunson and Towns were the heroes for their side against the Pacers on Sunday. They overcame a tough battle away from home and gave their fans a glimpse of hope going into Game 4 in a few days. The tough atmosphere did not bother Brunson and KAT during their post-match presser, as they shared a few jokes among themselves.
It’s an emotional game, it’s a long game… You can easily obviously crash out or you can respond the right way.
Jalen Brunson told the reporters
Karl-Anthony Towns quickly interrupted, stating, “Crash out, I love that (smiles).”

This moment does ring some alarm bells. Maybe KAT was referring to the Game 1 moment between himself, Brunon, and OG Anunoby. The three were spotted having a heated altercation after having a bad game against the Pacers.
