WWE ran the Yuengling Center in Tampa this past weekend for Saturday Night’s Main Event. The governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, also made his presence felt at the arena. However, the former naval officer was jeered by those in attendance, and several “you suck” chants also broke out. DeSantis didn’t appear on camera and supposedly exited the place before the show went on air.
Speaking of what WWE came up with in those two hours of wrestling airing nationwide on NBC, there were a few surprises. First and foremost, “Big” Bronson Reed made his return from a foot injury he’d suffered back at Survivor Series inside WarGames.

The Auszilla shockingly joined forces with Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Paul Heyman. Reed’s appearance cost Sami Zayn and CM Punk the tag team match against Rollins and Breakker. The Visionary now has Breakker and Reed under his tutelage, and one could only imagine the chaos it’d bring to Monday nights moving forward. The Aussie Bulldozer wasn’t the only returnee of the night.
In fact, Cody Rhodes also made a comeback later on to beat up John Cena, who’d crashed the Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul match for the world heavyweight title. It was Rhodes’ first WWE appearance since WrestleMania, where he’d lost the Undisputed WWE title to Cena. The American Nightmare will join forces with Uso to battle The Cenation Leader and Paul at Money in the Bank, as confirmed by Triple H.
Drew McIntyre trolled after his loss at Saturday Night’s Main Event
In arguably the most brutal match of the evening at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest waged war inside a steel cage. It was set up to end their rivalry, which had been going on for months. Avenging his loss from WrestleMania, Priest thrashed McIntyre. The Puerto Rican, who has started to refer to himself as the Wepa King, has trolled the Scot on X.

The former Judgment Day member posted a picture of The Scottish Psychopath eating a banana, with the caption reading, “Bored on vacation….” It’s a dig at McIntyre reportedly taking an extended leave of absence from WWE. The ending of their match at SNME saw Priest hit a con-chair-to on the former WWE Champion.

Priest would then exit the cage to win the match, something that Jesse Ventura heavily criticized on live commentary. Ventura dumped on the modern-day rule of winning steel cage matches. WWE has removed that part from its social platforms.
Nonetheless, the WWE Universe is growing frustrated with the company’s treatment of McIntyre, who has earned a unwanted reputation for never ending his rivalries on a high. Previously, it was CM Punk. And this time around, McIntyre has come out with the so-called Damian Priest vortex as a sore loser.
Saturday Night’s Main Event to host retirement matches of Goldberg and John Cena?
Ever since WWE reinstated the tradition, i.e., Saturday Night’s Main Event last year, the company has been treating it with utmost prestige. In fact, the next iteration of SNME is set for July 12 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

As per Fightful, that’s where Goldberg is tentatively set to wrestle his last match for WWE. He’s slowly getting back in shape needed to pull off his wrestling swansong. Not only Goldberg but also John Cena is expected to wrestle for the last time at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Boston.

It’s worth noting that both these legends are getting to bid adieu to their in-ring careers in their respective hometowns. While Bill Goldberg might face Gunther on his way out, there’s no such plan in place in Cena’s case, as of now.
