Giannis Antetokounmpo is as competitive an athlete as one can find in the NBA. The superstar has a reputation as someone who gives his all every second he is on the basketball court. Be it for the Milwaukee Bucks or the Greek national team, the 30-year-old has always given his best.

Many consider him next to Russell Westbrook as the hardest-working player in the league. That usually means that he will go hard at anyone and everyone, no matter who he is facing on the basketball court. That drive is what has made him a future Hall of Famer.

Media house Overtime reposted a video on social media of Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s recent experience on a basketball court. He is not wearing his Bucks gear, which means it could be just an offseason workout. But he is not facing a star athlete or a trainer.

Rather, he was facing a child who tried to cross over the two-time league MVP. Overtime captioned the video by suggesting that the kid managed to get the better of the Greek Freak. But this caption came to the Bucks star’s attention, and he decided to reply.

I hope if you are blessed to be in the position that I am, you let a kid believe that he crossed you over.

Giannis Antetokounmpo replied to Overtime

Antetokounmpo made it clear that when the kid was facing him, the last thing he wanted to do was to give him a hard time. He prefers to help the kid believe that they can be good. This wholehearted answer caught fire, and his response has been viewed more than 4 million times.

Giannis Antetokounmpo wants USA vs World All-Star game

Antetokounmpo has been pretty active on social media since his 2024-25 season ended in a manner that he, too, might not have liked. The Milwaukee Bucks star, though, has been responding to posts he likes, just like one that suggests that the NBA schedule a Team USA vs. World All-Star game.

The original post features a custom graphic wherein Team USA features LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Jayson Tatum, and Anthony Davis. The World team features the Greek Freak alongside Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic, and Victor Wembanyama.

The 2021 NBA Finals MVP believes a clash between these two will be a must-watch. He hopes Commissioner Adam Silver listens to his plea and makes it a reality. After the disaster that was the 2025 All-Star, the league could at least table this at their discussion meetings.

Giannis Antetokounmpo wants former teammate’s jersey retired

Antetokounmpo is in the midst of a difficult situation regarding his own future with the Milwaukee Bucks. But he knows that the NBA is a business and the team will do what is best for it, just like how they shipped away close friend and now former teammate Khris Middleton before the trade deadline.

A graphic came up on social media from a Bucks fan page that asked if the franchise should retire Khris Middleton‘s jersey. He might be playing for the Washington Wizards, but he was a crucial part of their 2021 championship-winning team.

The Greek Freak replied to this post, suggesting he “1000%” agrees that the Bucks should retire his former teammate’s jersey. He knows that without the contributions from the former All-Star, the Bucks would not have won that title.

If not for injuries, maybe Khris Middleton would have still been a part of the Bucks. It was painful for Antetokounmpo to watch his close friend depart a few months after being the best man at his wedding with longtime girlfriend Mariah Riddlesprigger.
