Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has managed to use the criticism and ‘hate’ around her to her advantage and create a brand that has garnered millions of followers. Those followers primarily admire her ability to stand in the face of those criticisms and still come out on top.

But there were times when she looked like she could not handle how far some things went. In her final game for LSU, she poured her heart out in front of the media, revealing how she had been s**ualized, received threats of all kinds, and was criticized left, right, and center.

In her rookie season, she was brutally mocked for missing multiple layups and apparently stat-padding her way to record double-doubles. Reese reminded her critics that she was just finding her feet in the WNBA and was only going to grow.

In her sophomore season, the Sky forward has so far had a mixed outing and was again subjected to trolls. However, none of it seemed to matter as she gracefully continued to work on her game. Angel Reese had not responded much to trolls until a recent topic came to her attention.

When did i say this?? yall really make up something new everyday lmaooo.

Angel Reese tweeted

She then wrote another quote to sum up what she had seen on social media.

I really hope that check be worth the amount of lies yall make up EVERYDAY. i REALLYYYYY hope.

Angel Reese makes it clear that trolls and lies cannot impact her brand

Angel Reese’s responses to those lie-based stories indicate she is taking these posts lightly. However, her fans want her to take action against those radical outlets, believing those lies could end up harming what she has built so far. Reese, though, does not seem to be phased.

My brand is BUILT love. They can’t stop what’s already BUILT. The real KNOW the REAL.

Angel Reese tweeted

The Chicago Sky star’s reply suggests she is in a good place when it comes to her brand and is not worried. She seems to believe those lie-based posts cannot do a lot of damage, especially when most of the people replying, or viewing those posts are not her followers.

The WNBA rebounding phenom has a fan base spanning nearly 5 million on Instagram, 5.6 million on TikTok, and 690K on X. She knows that brands are not concerned about the troll posts. They sign endorsement deals with her due to the millions of followers she has.

Angel Reese will not face off against rival Caitlin Clark this weekend

One of the prime reasons Angel Reese has come back into the target sights of trolls is after she aggressively reacted to Caitlin Clark‘s foul in the season opener. Fans believed Reese would not have done the same if it were any other player.

Robert Griffin III then fanned notions of underlying ‘hate’. Matters took a turn for the worse when she almost agreed that some Indiana Fever fans directed racially discriminatory chants in her direction. The problem is that the WNBA’s investigation came up empty, and fans are calling for her to apologize.

The Sky are scheduled to welcome the Fever tonight for a game. The only difference is that Caitlin Clark will not be playing as she is still recovering from a quad strain. That means there is less chance of fireworks resuming on the court again.
