Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark is yet to return to action, and that has become a problem for both her team as well as the WNBA. Fans have also been eager for her to return, as they want to watch the most exciting athlete in women’s basketball take to the court.

In the five games she has not played, Clark still sat courtside for every single game. It is possible that her team and the league asked her to at least be present to minimize the impact of her absence. She has become a part-time photographer, babysits her coach’s children, and also doubles up as an assistant coach.

Even then, her lack of on-court action has resulted in an overall 50% drop in viewership. The league would want her to return soon, as they do not want their stellar growth to slow down. So do the fans. And recently, a young girl’s parents decided to make her dream of watching her favorite superstar come true.

The parents surprised their daughter, Mila, with tickets to the Indiana Fever game against the Las Vegas Aces to be held on June 22nd. She broke down in tears when she learned that she could finally watch Caitlin Clark play. However, Mila’s mother mentioned that she was praying that the Fever guard recovers from her quad strain to play in that game.

The parents also informed her that they will be seated at the back. That means she will get a clear view of the court. The father then mentioned that he would purchase a Clark No. 22 jersey before going, to which his daughter replied that she would wear hers.

This clip soon went viral, and since the mother added the Caitlin Clark hashtag to her post, it happened to catch the attention of the Fever superstar. The 23-year-old did not waste time or go through her PR or her team’s PR, and instead directly replied to the post.

She asked the mother to check her DMs. Another video posted on the mother’s IG account a few hours later shows her revealing Clark’s response to Mila. The little girl was shocked that her favorite superstar replied to her mother’s post.

Then the mother, after struggling to find her messages, revealed that the superstar instructed them to meet their player relationship in charge. Hearing this alone, Mila screamed as loud as she could as she was unable to contain her excitement.

Mila’s screams stopped her mother from revealing anything else. It is unclear what else the Fever superstar mentioned in the DM, but considering she is going the extra mile, it is possible that either their tickets would get upgraded, or Mila will get special access to meet her idol.

Caitlin Clark should return to play against Liberty

Caitlin Clark‘s injury has kept her out for the past five games. Mila’s parents are hoping she recovers so that their daughter can watch the Indiana Fever superstar play against the Las Vegas Aces. So far, the reigning Rookie of the Year’s recovery has been as her medical team had envisioned.

Video clips from Fever practice sessions show the 23-year-old working out. However, it does not reveal if the Iowa native is participating in full workouts or just easing herself back in. Even if she is trying to get back into the flow, she may play in their next game against the New York Liberty.

It is unclear if she will play the full game or whether her coaches will ease her back into competitive basketball. Even if it is the latter, Mila and her parents should not be worried, as Clark should be playing another two games before she and her teammates land in Las Vegas.
