Colin Cowherd Compares Caitlin Clark to Mr. Beast as a Needle Mover Sans Theatrics
With every passing day it becomes more and more evident that Caitlin Clark is the primary player responsible for moving the WNBA's needle.

Caitlin Clark has used her performances as an elite women’s basketball player to dominate the college stage. She then brought those performances to the WNBA. Despite initially struggling, she managed to turn the corner and reach the All-WNBA 1st team.
Those performances are often defined as exciting and relatable. She is a 6-foot guard who does not lean on her physical traits alone. Her logo threes and her unreal passing have made fans jump out of their seats. All of those relatable performances have brought along an unprecedented level of fame.
Unsurprisingly, as she keeps performing at that level, more and more fans are getting hooked on the Caitlin Clark bandwagon. It is something that has not been seen in women’s basketball before, and at the same time, as veteran analyst Colin Cowherd puts it, is without any off-court theatrics.
She reminds me of Mr. Beast. He doesn’t swear, he doesn’t necessarily provoke, doesn’t lean on politics. He just does giveaways, and he does them really well. He’s the best at it. Same with Caitlin. She shoots and makes shots from 36 feet, the effortless charisma, the awkward but honest interviews. She grabs you without any gimmicks, captivates you without any clout.

The FS1 analyst believes Caitlin Clark is ‘Mrs. Beast’, considering how their methods are similar. Cowherd believes that the natural way has garnered the Indiana Fever superstar the fan following she now enjoys. That is why the league struggled to match attendance ratings when she was out injured.
Colin Cowherd’s ‘natural’ fan following claim of Caitlin Clark might be a slight at Angel Reese
When trying to make his point, Colin Cowherd mentioned that Caitlin Clark does not use any gimmicks to increase her fan base, much like Mr. Beast. What he means is that the Indiana Fever superstar does not forcefully insert herself into conversations, does not go for the radical oddball look, etc.
This could be a slight at Angel Reese and some others in the WNBA. Reese commands the most followers as per her social media count. However, when she and her Chicago Sky went to play a preseason game against the Brazilian National Team at her alma mater, the LSU Tigers, only half the seats were occupied.
On the other hand, when Caitlin Clark and her Fever battled the same Brazilian National Team, Hawkeye-Carver Arena in Iowa was packed, and resellers commanded several hundred dollars to part with their in-demand tickets.
These differences played their part last season when the Sky, on average, could not get close to capacity, despite having a 10,374-seat home arena. Whereas the Fever were at max capacity almost throughout the 2024 season.
Fan points out what makes Caitlin Clark happy
After Caitlin Clark returned from her quad injury, she dropped 32 points along with 8 rebounds and 9 assists. More importantly, her Indiana Fever broke the defending champion New York Liberty’s 10-game unbeaten streak.

After the game, a clip was shared online that shows how Clark had a stunned reaction on her face after hitting a long three over Liberty’s Breanna Stewart. The clip also shows that Stewie was laughing, knowing how audacious that three was.
This makes my heart so happy because it’s all Caitlin has wanted. To play high level basketball against other great players and have fun while doing it! No added drama or narratives that others create around her. https://t.co/ofKPirhMDd

A fan by the name of Lisa Dondlinger pointed out that the clip probably shows what makes the Iowa native happy. High-level basketball is all that she cares about. She is not concerned with anything else and stays away from them, despite attempts to drag her name through controversial topics.
