Emmanuel Acho believes Lamar Jackson needs to prove he is truly special by winning a Super Bowl.

Lamar Jackson has already established himself as a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Two MVP awards, most rushing yards by a quarterback in the NFL, and many more accolades, have earned him a spot in Canton, Ohio. However, there is one thing that Jackson has been consistently unsuccessful at: winning.
The quarterback has struggled to push past the AFC Championship Round in the playoffs. He has come within one step of making it to the Super Bowl, but has repeatedly fallen short. Jackson’s 3-5 record in the playoffs has done more harm than good for his legacy.
He still has a long career to go, but Lamar Jackson has all the right pieces around him today. Which is why it is now or probably never for him to win a Super Bowl. His bad luck in the postseason will impact his legacy, believes notable analyst Emmanuel Acho.
Lamar has to be special in the playoffs. He’s special in the regular season but when you think about Josh Allen…25 touchdowns and 4 interceptions in the playoffs, Patrick Mahomes, he goes without needing introduction or statistics, Lamar gotta be special. He’s yet to be special in the playoffs, but Lamar has to be the difference maker, if the defense lets you down…if the offense lets you down…be the greater acer.

Acho’s point is valid, as Jackson is unstoppable during the regular season. He thrives week after week. In the playoffs, too, Jackson plays well, but Acho expects him to dominate and make up for the shortcomings of his teammates.
Lamar Jackson’s postseason success will define his legacy
The analyst cited Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes’ success in the postseason as the level that Lamar Jackson must strive to achieve. Jackson’s greatness will ultimately mean more with a Super Bowl win in his career. The quarterback had under 500 yards and four touchdowns in two games of the playoffs this year.

If you’re going to be one of the greatest players of this generation…he has to be that in the playoffs.
Emmanuel Acho added
For the past three seasons, Lamar Jackson has continued to produce Madden-like numbers. In the last season, despite getting Derrick Henry, Jackson continued to dominate. He threw for a career-best 4,172 yards and had 41 touchdowns. He led Baltimore’s offense and came close to making the AFC Championship yet again, but Mark Andrews’ costly drop earned the Ravens a loss.
“Lamar Jackson has to be special in the playoffs. If you’re going to be one of the greatest of this generation, you have to be that in the playoffs as well.”

Jackson has played good in the postseason, but fate has been cruel to him as he has lost in previous years due to mistakes by his receivers. This season, the duo of Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson will hope to recreate their offensive magic once again. However, this time, they will hope to reach the Super Bowl.
Jackson already has many feathers in his cap; god forbid if the man were to retire without winning a Super Bowl, his legacy would still be hard to erase. There have been NFL greats, such as Eric Dickerson, Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, and Randy Moss, amongst others, who never won a ring, yet they are recognized for their contributions to the game. Although yes, one or more championships would be the perfect icing on the cake, which defines Jackson’s legacy as a quarterback in the NFL.
