Justin Fields has had a rough time in the NFL. The Chicago Bears drafted him in the top 10 as their franchise quarterback, but after three seasons, 24 games, and 10 wins, Fields was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers for picks.
Pittsburgh offered a fresh start, but he was stuck as a reliever for Russell Wilson in most games. Fields only started six games, ending up with a 4-2 record before declining the chance to stay with the AFC North franchise.
Popular TikTok reporter David Carmi bumped into Fields on the streets. Before he zoomed off on his Uber, Carmi asked the 26-year-old what made him look confident. Fields mentioned God as the source of his confidence.
He then expanded on how God kept him grounded and calm despite all the challenges in the NFL.
I think you just gotta find your confidence in [the lord], and no matter what happens in life, you just gotta let him have control over [you] and just control what you can control. I think that goes with everything in life. Football taught me a lot [of life lessons]. Good times, bad times, adversity hits, but that adversity makes you the person who you are.
Justin Fields replied with a smile on his face
Love this response by @justnfields when asked what makes him confident.

The New York Jets, under new coaching, gave Fields a two-year contract in the offseason. As per Spotrac, Fields’ contract includes a $20 million/year package with $30 million guaranteed money.
Justin Fields disclosed what advice he will give to his younger self
Fields may not be as high-profile a player as the Jets’ previous quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, or Shedeur Sanders, whom the Big Apple franchise could have drafted. Head coach Aaron Glenn methodically went for a Sam Darnold-esque quarterback who has experience playing in the NFL but can still be molded into a good quarterback.

Fields’ first couple of months went under the radar, but if fans listen to Glenn in the press conference, they will realize that the Ohio State graduate is a diamond in the rough.
Carmi continued his question-and-answer session by inquiring about the advice Justin Fields would give to his younger self.
Be free out there. I think, at certain stages, you start to think a lot about different factors [that] don’t matter at the end of the day but you know just go out there, plat free and not really have your mind thinking about it too much.
Fields said
Even though Fields has won his coach over with his attitude and hard work, CBS Sports analyst Cody Benjamin remains skeptical about his ceiling. In a recent article, Benjamin claimed Fields is a sixth-tier quarterback, below the rookie Cam Ward and journeyman Sam Darnold.
Fields can pass the eye test with flying colors; he looks the part with his athleticism, which once helped him clear 1,100 rushing yards (!) as the Bears’ starter. Still, he’s now on his third team in five seasons, and neither of his previous clubs could figure out how to prioritize ball protection while maximizing his gifts.

Fields has appeared in 50 games, starting 44. He threw for 7780 yards from 684 completions (61% completion rate), 45 passing touchdowns, and 31 interceptions, along with 418 carries for 2509 yards and 19 touchdowns.
During his three years with the Buckeyes, Fields went 20-2 with a pass completion rate of 68.4% and contributed 86 touchdowns.
