Prosecutors Seeking 5-Year Jail-Term for Wander Franco in S**UAL Abuse Case
Suspended Tampa Bay Rays star Wander Franco is facing charges of s**ual abuse of a minor, s**ual exploitation and human trafficking .

A major update regarding the ongoing Wander Franco s**ual abuse case came out on Monday. The Dominican prosecutors are seeking a 5-year jail term for the suspended Tampa Bay Rays star.
The shortstop is currently facing charges of s**ually abusing a minor who was 14 at that time. He has also been accused of being a relationship with that girl.
As per reports from the Associated Press, prosecutors have enough evidence to prove that Franco had been in a relationship with the minor for around 4 months. They also claimed that the MLB star transferred large sums of amount to the mother of the minor to consent their relationship.
Apart from s**ually abuse and s**ual exploitation against a minor charges, Franco is also facing charges of human trafficking.
According to reports, there were some raids conducted at the house of the minor’s mother. During this raids, the officials would recover sums of $68,500 and $35,000, which they alleged were delivered by Franco to the mother.
Along with Franco, the prosecutors are also seeking a 10-year imprisonment of the minor’s mother on charges of s**ually trafficking her daughter. Meanwhile, after fighting on his side, the lawyers of Franco have urged the court to clear the player of all the charges against him and dismiss the case. A final decision regarding this case is expected to come this Thursday.

Wander Franco previously claimed that he wants “justice” from court
The MLB was left in a major shock when reports of Wander Franco being involved in a s**ual abuse case came up. Earlier this month, the suspended baseball star claimed that he wants “justice” from the court.

Since the start of this case, the 24-year-old has pleaded innocence against the serious allegations that have been leveled against him. When the trial regarding this case started this month, the 2023 MLB All-Star told the court that all he wants is justice.

One of the attorneys of Franco claimed that the evidence against him was fraudulent and illegal. Another member of his legal team expressed that the minor girl denied having any sort of relationship with the Tampa Bay Rays star.
Franco, who joined the team in 2021, was having one of his best seasons of his career before his arrest. In the 112 games he played in 2023, he was hitting with a .281 batting average and had 17 home runs and 58 RBI to his name.
Wander Franco was also arrested last year in armed dispute case
In the middle of his s**ual abuse case, Wander Franco found himself in more trouble last year. He was arrested in an armed dispute case in the Dominican Republic.

As per reports, he was arrested during an armed altercation in his homeland. He was arrested in San Juan de la Maguana, 116 miles west of Santo Domingo.
As per the police, an altercation took place in the parking lot of an apartment complex in which guns were drawn. Franco was charged with gun possession. However, as per his lawyers, the gun was licensed and there was nothing illegal about it.
The attention of the world will now turn towards Thursday regarding his ongoing s**ual abuse case. If he is found guilty, there are chances he could be locked up for a long time.
