Colby Covington remains one of the most polarising individuals in the UFC roster due to his unapologetic personality. And well into the twilight of his career, the 37-year-old last fought at UFC Tampa in December 2024 in a losing effort to Joaquin Buckley. And during his extended inactivity from MMA competition, he has now shifted his professional focus toward regular live KICK streaming.
The former interim 170lbs kingpin maintains a healthy, loyal audience, who often join live sessions as Covington hosts interactive training drills and fan Q&A segments. Recently, the Clovis native streamed a sparring session with a popular influencer, which instantly went viral everywhere.
During the live stream, Covington offered a $30,000 knockout challenge with popular street fighting influencer Chorgman, creating excitement. After taking a few body shots, Chorgman suddenly crumbled inside the Octagon and violently vomited, shocking thousands watching live.
It’s not a good idea to challenge a UFC fighter that’s also a champion to a boxing match or any kind of sort and I think we’ve all learned that today.

Covington has never been widely recognized for his knockout power and often faces criticism for supposedly having pillow hands. As a result, many fans who saw the clip couldn’t believe that the influencer started vomiting. Throughout his long MMA career, he has managed to secure only four professional knockouts, highlighting his preference for wrestling and pressure.

In fact, Covington has not knocked out any opponent in the last five years, further fueling constant debate about his striking. Despite these criticisms, ‘Chaos’ remains a top-tier competitor, relying on cardio, volume, and relentless pressure to dominate.
His fighting foundation was based on an exceptional wrestling background, becoming an NCAA Division I All-American during his collegiate career. Covington used his grappling-heavy game plan to neutralize elite strikers like Jorge Masvidal and Robbie Lawler, shutting down their explosive offense.
Colby Covington mocks long-standing rival Dustin Poirier
As already mentioned, Colby Covington’s last fight ended in a disappointing loss against Joaquin Buckley, eventually stopped by the doctor after sustained damage. Despite that brutal outcome, Covington publicly refused to accept the loss as legitimate and remains eager to return for another opportunity soon.

Known for chasing legacy-defining bouts, Covington long targeted former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier, fueling one of his most heated rivalries. There have been multiple back-and-forths between the former American Top Team training partners, with ‘The Diamond’ also thinking about moving up to the welterweight division to fight Covington at one point.
The feud between Covington and Poirier grew personal, with years of insults, but Poirier’s retirement at UFC 318 has closed the door on the bout. In his latest stream, ‘Chaos’ was asked about this fight, and he took this opportunity to mock Poirier.
He’s been scared of my shadow for years, ever since we trained together at that old gym. The guy just knows what I bring to the table. He knows he can’t beat me. He can’t even get a lucky punch on me. He’s not even willing to try, (unlike) his friend Jorge. At least he tried. Dustin doesn’t even want to try. He’s gonna go into retirement knowing that I owned his soul and he didn’t defend his family’s honor or legacy. Dustin’s a little(expletive), he’s Louisiana swamp trash, and he’s a pathetic little (expletive).

Poirier and Covington are only one year apart in age, yet Poirier retired on his own terms. His final fight was a memorable clash with Max Holloway in his hometown of Louisiana, closing his career with an exciting performance.
Meanwhile, Covington remains active, expressing interest in facing top lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett at welterweight, creating significant fan intrigue. He has also revealed intentions to participate in the upcoming UFC White House event, which will feature some of the biggest superstars.
