- Lindsey Vonn and French skier Matthieu Bailet are reportedly dating after being spotted together in New York City.
- The couple attended a Broadway show and shared flirty interactions on social media.
- Vonn has a history of high-profile relationships and recently split from Diego Osoria.
The five-time Olympian and three-time medalist Lindsey Vonn and French skier Matthieu Bailet are reportedly learning about each other after sparking dating rumors just a few days ago. Vonn, 41, was first spotted with Bailet, 30, four days ago when the pair cozied up for a lunch date in New York’s Soho neighborhood.
The pair caught a subway underground and were captured sitting close to each other on the subway benches while awaiting their train. The rumors intensified after yet another outing on Sunday when Vonn and Bailet attended a showing of ‘The Outsiders‘ at the Bernard B Jacobs Theatre on Broadway and posed for pictures backstage.
Later, People reported that an exclusive source revealed that the skiers are “getting to know each other.” As soon as the initial rumors floated, web sleuths got around and reported that Vonn and Bailet have liked several posts of each other on their Instagram handles. It didn’t take much time to notice a Vonn comment, a side-eye flirty emoji, on a shirtless advert posted by the Frenchman a day ago in collaboration with an automotive dealership in Nice.
Bailet has seemingly returned to France, posting pictures of a book he read during what seems to be a flight. Meanwhile, Vonn was in Los Angeles, where she attended the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 115-110 resounding victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.
It was only last week that Lindsey Vonn made her first public appearance since her mind-blowing crash at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, attending the Met Gala. The alpine skier dazzled in a custom Thom Browne gown with a cane to support her. She was also seen with crutches during her dates with Bailet.
The 41-year-old was previously married to fellow US Ski Team teammate Thomas Vonn. After a four-year-long marriage, they got divorced, after which Vonn dated golfer Tiger Woods. She briefly dated Kenan Smith, an assistant coach in the NFL, before her high-profile relationship with PK Subban. They were engaged for a short time.
Vonn’s last relationship was with Diego Osorio, founder of the tequila brand Lobos 1707. They split last year.
Who is Matthieu Bailet, Lindsey Vonn’s new rumored boyfriend?
Matthieu Bailet, hailing from Nice, is a French ski racer who specializes in the speed events of downhill and Super G. He made his World Cup debut in 2016 at St. Moritz at the age of 19, following his gold medal at the Junior World Championships. Bailet competed in the Super G event and failed to finish.

Bailet cracked the Top 10 for the first time in Bormio in 2018, finishing sixth in the men’s downhill event. His first Super G Top 10 came years later in 2021, in Kitzbuehel, Austria. He had one of his best races there, also finishing seventh and ninth in two downhill races. His first and only podium to date also came in the country at the Saalbach-Hinterglamm leg, just two months after the Kitzbuehel event, when he finished second to Marco Odermatt.
Bailet competed at the Beijing Winter Olympics after his stellar run-up to the event. However, he finished 27th in downhill and failed to finish in Super G. He wasn’t featured in the French team for the Milano Cortina event. Nonetheless, he told L’Equipe that despite his disappointment, he’s fully backing Les Blues.
After the conclusion of the Winter Olympics, Bailet returned to the slopes as the season began. He competed in three World Cups, his best result coming in men’s Super G at Lillehammer in March. He finished seventh in the national championships last month in Tignes in downhill, while he was disqualified in Super G in the first run.
The 30-year-old has a sister, Margot Bailet, who’s a former national champion and works as a consultant for Eurosport FR.
