Just when it looked like the momentum was shifting towards Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, it all fell apart in the second half of Game 4. After building a 29-point lead, the Spurs completely fell apart when it mattered the most.
Coming off an impressive performance in Game 3, the Spurs came all guns blazing right from tip-off in Game 4. Unfortunately, some poor plays and decisions led to a 107-106 defeat to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
Despite the win, it looks like several Knicks fans still did not react well. A video went viral where a mob of Knicks fans greeted the Spurs players as they returned to their team hotel. But it was seen that a few objects were hurled towards Wembanyama.

Victor Wembanyama remained calm and composed as he made his way to the hotel despite a couple of objects being thrown at him. This comes after the 7’4″ center condemned the Knicks fans for attacking Spurs fans after Game 3.
The Knicks are known for being one of the most vocal and passionate fan bases in the NBA. But sometimes their extreme loyalty to the club leads to violence and unwarranted chaos. After Game 3, the police had to deploy pepper spray to control the crowd at a watch party outside Bryant Park.
While most fans outside the hotel limited themselves to heckling, it is unfortunate to see some go overboard. During this series, Wembanyama has emerged as a new villain in the eyes of Knicks fans after he shoved Jalen Brunson to the floor in Game 3.
The internet reacts to Knicks fans throwing objects at Victor Wembanyama after Game 4
The Spurs were treated to a hostile crowd outside their team hotel. Victor Wembanyama did turn around when some items were thrown at him, but he was quickly ushered inside by security. In Game 3, the Frenchman received his third flagrant foul in the playoffs.
It did not take long for the video clip to go viral across social media as fans took to the internet to react.
TBH I’m excited for New York. But, This type of behavior is Absolutely not Ok at all …I understand that this is Sports Entertainment and tensions are high. But this is not welcoming and these are our fellow American Athletes who do not deserve to be treated in such manner.

Please don’t call them Knicks fan we do not claim those people.

There's a big difference between passionate fans and throwing things at players. The atmosphere is part of sports. Putting people at risk isn't.

NBA fans criticized Knicks fans for such behavior. Heckling is a common way to go after opposition players, but throwing objects at them crosses the line.
Painful night for Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs
At halftime, it looked like Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs were going to blow the Knicks away at the Garden. Their shots were falling, and the Knicks were out of ideas. But everything turned in the second half as the Spurs scored just 30 points in the entire half.
After setting the NBA Finals record of making 14 three-pointers in the first half, the Spurs made just three in the second half. Wembanyama led his team with another double-double as he recorded 24 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks.

The Spurs have their backs against the wall for the remainder of the series. It is difficult to recover after a loss like they just had. But they will need to get over it and reset with Game 5 set to be played at home.
Wembanyama and his teammates face a monumental task ahead. The Knicks have lost just one of their last 15 games in the playoffs. All four games have been tight in this series, but the Spurs find themselves trailing 3-1. They will need to win their next three games as they look to become just the second team in NBA history to pull off a 3-1 comeback in the NBA Finals.
