With the historic UFC Freedom 250 event officially in the books, the MMA world now looks forward to UFC 329. The upcoming International Fight Week event marks the highly anticipated return of the ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor. As such, fans were treated to the first interaction between the headliners as they sat down for a satellite interview with UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

In typical fashion for the Irishman, this latest interview went off the rails rather quickly. McGregor was brash and loud as he didn’t let Max Holloway get in a word edgewise. Even so, ‘Blessed’ kept at it as they went back and forth through the segment that aired during the White House card’s broadcast. Their interaction left the host of the Joe Rogan Experience in hysterics.

At one point in the interview, McGregor dismissed any suggestion that the Hawaiian could pose a serious threat to him inside the Octagon. The former two-division UFC champion doubled down on his confidence, insisting that the size difference and his own abilities would prove too much for the former BMF titleholder to overcome.

No disrespect Max, you’re not gonna lay a glove on me, and even if you do lay a glove on me, I’m gonna laugh in your face. It’s another world here against me and it’s another world at this weight. I’m gonna come out of this belt unscathed, and in all glory I am, we talk about ancestors, we talk about warriors.

However, the ‘Notorious One’ was not done there. The former featherweight champion lived up to his status as the greatest trash talker in UFC history and then some during this interview. As Holloway attempted to get in a few bars of his own, the Irishman shut him down expeditiously in a hilarious manner.

Relax and be quiet when I speak. Max is my child, excuse his rudeness.

Despite a near-half decade layoff, ‘Mystic Mac’ seems to have not lost a step on the mic heading into his return to active competition. This interview between the headliners with Joe Rogan has only served to enhance the hype and anticipation around the event. As the event approaches, details about the event are coming to light, including the poster for the upcoming event.

UFC releases UFC 329 poster featuring Conor McGregor and Max Holloway to mixed reactions

The UFC has caught its fair share of flak for their use of AI in promotional material for fights. Former title contender, Renato Moicano, had earlier expressed disappointment with his employers over the use of AI-generated content in their marketing material. Even so, this has not stopped the MMA giant from overhauling their rankings with AI, nor has it inhibited their use of it for marketing fights.

Less than a month away from the event, the UFC dropped the poster for Conor McGregor vs Max Holloway 2. Kicking off what will surely be a steady stream of content tied to UFC 329, the artwork places McGregor and Holloway front and center ahead of their highly anticipated rematch. The poster was unveiled by the UFC on their X account.

The artwork for the upcoming International Fight Week event was instantly met with pushback from fans. While many were simply ecstatic about the Irishman’s return, others could not help but comment on his distorted visage in the poster. Fans in the comment section of the post lambasted the UFC for pushing more ‘AI slop’ through their promotional efforts for the upcoming fight.

All in all, the reaction to this bit of promotion was likely not what the UFC had hoped for. After all, the return of the sport’s biggest superstar after 5 years is a momentous occasion. This is especially because Conor McGregor himself claimed to have reinvented himself and retooled his approach to fighting before his planned comeback.
