Paddy Pimblett has built his rise through standout performances inside the Octagon. However, the Liverpudlian also became a fan favorite because of his sharp mic skills and relentless trash talk. He often uses mind games to unsettle opponents, with former champion Ilia Topuria remaining one of his biggest targets.

Pimblett recently reignited their rivalry by taking fresh shots following Topuria’s UFC Freedom 250 loss. Topuria entered the historic event as the undisputed UFC lightweight champion, making the first defense of the title he won after moving up from featherweight.

He headlined the historic White House card against Justin Gaethje, who rallied after surviving a difficult second round. However, Topuria’s corner stopped the fight at the end of the fourth round, giving Gaethje a TKO victory and ending his 17-0 unbeaten run in MMA.

UFC Freedom 250 was promoted as a once-in-a-lifetime event, making memorabilia from the historic White House card highly sought after. The UFC listed several event-used items on its official collectibles website, including Topuria’s red corner stool, which was priced at $13,700. However, Pimblett later posted an Instagram photo featuring a similar red stool, suggesting it was the same item from the event.

Before the loss, Topuria was regarded as one of the UFC’s biggest stars after becoming a two-division champion. Wins over Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway helped him build a massive fan following. After Pimblett’s post, one loyal supporter revealed she had purchased the original stool through the UFC collectibles website so the Georgian Spanish star’s rivals could not use it against him.

The rivalry between Topuria and Pimblett began after a heated altercation at a UFC London hotel in 2022. Both fighters have continued trading verbal attacks ever since. Their feud reignited at UFC 317, when Topuria shoved Pimblett during an Octagon faceoff after winning the lightweight title against Charles Oliveira.

Pimblett was among the first fighters to call out Topuria after his UFC Freedom 250 defeat. The English fighter reacted live to the fight and expressed disbelief that Topuria’s corner stopped the bout between rounds. Pimblett also offered the Spaniard a return fight, claiming the loss would change him.

Pimblett also revealed that he celebrated Gaethje’s victory over Topuria at UFC Freedom 250. The Liverpudlian superstar claimed the former champion lost the essence of being a fighter when he quit on the stool. He continued criticizing Topuria after the defeat while keeping their rivalry active.

However, while Paddy Pimblett remains confident in his abilities, Justin Gaethje has warned about the dangers of facing Ilia Topuria. Both fighters are currently without a scheduled matchup, leaving a potential clash between ‘The Baddy’ and ‘El Matador’ as a major possibility for the closing months of 2026.

UFC CEO reveals lucrative opportunity for Paddy Pimblett after UFC 329 success

Paddy Pimblett rose through the UFC ranks rapidly after becoming one of the promotion’s biggest rising stars. The Liverpudlian faced elite opposition during his climb. However, his momentum was halted at UFC 324 after a unanimous decision loss to Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title.

Paddy Pimblett bounced back at UFC 329 with a quick submission victory over Benoit Saint-Denis. The Liverpudlian secured a D’Arce choke just 52 seconds into the opening round, earning a first-round finish against the French lightweight contender who was riding an impressive four-fight winning streak.

UFC CEO Dana White has remained appreciative of Pimblett’s career and growth within the promotion. He has consistently praised the Englishman’s performances and rising stardom. White recently revealed that the producers of the popular TV series MobLand were ready to offer Pimblett a role after UFC 329.

So I’m laying in bed, my phone starts ringing and it’s the producers of MobLand, they’re like we want Paddy Pimblett. I hope he does it.

Several UFC stars have found success in the entertainment industry, including Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson in The A-Team and Conor McGregor in Road House (2024). If Paddy Pimblett accepts the offer, it could provide a major opportunity to expand his name beyond the UFC and build his profile in entertainment.
