Among the many NBA stars who have not been able to maintain their lifestyle, Delonte West may be the one who leaves anyone with sufficient knowledge of the game wondering how his life turned out to be this bad.

The 43-year-old last played basketball in 2015, and since then, his life has turned upside down. The following year, he was pictured walking barefoot, wearing a hospital gown.

He did dismiss rumors of him being homeless, but continued to find himself on the wrong side of normal behavior. In 2020, he was captured on camera wearing handcuffs on a DC highway and lost his job as a scout for the Boston Celtics.

Several months later, Dallas Mavericks minority owner and former boss, Mark Cuban, rescued West from a Dallas gas station after pictures circulated of his former player panhandling.

The billionaire paid for his rehab and also his expenses. That did help him change his ways for a while, but he was back begging within a couple of years.

Over the past four years, the former 24th overall pick has been arrested quite a few times, captured on video stumbling around, and even unconscious. Many fans felt that the likes of former teammate LeBron James have deserted West during his tough ordeal. Now, the point guard addresses those narratives.

A lot of the guys that I played with, LeBron. Him and his family call my mom all the time, make sure I’m ok. Ms. (Gloria) James, she calls my mom.

Delonte West told N3on

This means that despite past rumors of him having a relationship with Gloria James, the mother of the league’s biggest superstar keeps tabs on Delonte West just like he is her son.

Streamer N3on gifts $10k cash and an iPhone 17 Pro Max to Delonte West

After discussing the support he has been receiving from his former teammates and others with N3on on the latter’s latest live stream, he and Delonte West headed to Best Buy, where they first stopped in the parking space.

There, before they went into the mall, N3on first took out a bag of money and handed it over to the former Cleveland Cavaliers guard. The streamer mentioned that the $10k he just gave the DC native would be enough to use for a while.

Before West took the bag in his hands, the guard became emotional. For someone who has been struggling with bipolar disorder for a long time, which led him to beg on the streets at times, that money looked like a lifesaver.

West remarked that his children were about to return to school, and that the money would go a long way toward helping them. He then looked in all directions before sliding the money into his bag, which indicates that the now-sober West was being careful to avoid prying eyes.

Then, after N3on and Delonte West walk into the Best Buy, the former informs the Saint Joseph’s alum that he would be gifting him an iPhone 17 Pro Max. That was a huge trade-up from the $15 phone the 6’3″ star was carrying.

N3on helps Delonte West start streaming on Kick

Handing over cash and giving a new phone might lead some to believe that a person with a troubled past might look to sell that phone the very instant he runs out of the $10k.

To help Delonte West avoid such potential problems, N3on decided to set him up with a streaming setup with which the eight-year NBA veteran can start earning money on his own.

The streamer informed West that he can live stream whenever he wants with the equipment and will immediately start earning, since the Kick account N3on set up for the former NBA star was verified and monetized.

Delonte West was overjoyed and could not thank the streamer enough for helping him possibly find a source of income that he can control and earn from. N3on also let the guard know that he is a phone call away if he needed anything.
